I want to order pre-cut window tint for my wifes 05.
What shade is required for the front windows to match the rest?

50% or 35%

Actually it's 20%, and the question is more like WHY would you order precut tint? It's well worth the very few extra dollars to have a shop put it in (perfect installation plus a lifetime garuntee.)

I got a ticket for my tint being too dark so be careful. He measured the front and it was 11% and just for grins the back window was 16%. I actually got the ticket for not complying with the "reflective" requirements not the darkness.

20% is correct. However, to get a perfect match (which probably won't happen) you'll need to go and get it professionaly done. That quote for the front two windows may be true for cali, but you boyz iz gettin ripped! :reddevil: I see your in Baton Rouge, and I am sure its a lot cheaper than that here. When I had a sub contractor doing tint at my place, front two were usually $75 and that was with me gettin 30% of the take.

I personally have the factory 20% rear with another 20% sheet over it, effectively about 5%, and 20% on the front. You can have as dark as you want from the rear door back, and the front window at 20% in Georgia

Louisiana" Window Tint Requirements are as follows: windshield (all vehicles) - tint may not extend more than five inches (5") from the top of the windshield and may not be red or amber in color; front side windows (all vehicles) - must have at least forty (40) percent light transmission; rear side windows (passenger vehicles only) - must have at least twenty-five (25) percent light transmission; rearmost glass (passenger vehicles only) - must have at least twelve (12) percent light transmission

i just went to my shop and got a price quote and it was 75 for the 2 window and 275 to do the whole truck but i dont know why anybody would ever do that, and i price a remote start at the same time and a total price was 350 out the door

Mine has some really dark tint on it. It becomes an issue at night trying to look out of any of the rear windows. The front ones aren't as dark. Since I didn't install it, I can't give you a %.

20% is correct. You have to remember that since there is no tint on your front windshield it wil let in more light which makes the 35% ones even lighter and they wont match at all.

I myself have 20% over the factory, limo on the front, and 15" on the front windshield.

i had 20% on my 98 and that was a pretty good match. it was about 300 all around. so 350 with remote start is a hell of a deal. i say go for it.

Here in PA the law states that on the front windows no tint is allowed. However, most people get away with 35% on the front windows. I was pulled over in my old Nissan Maxima for having 20% the whole way around. The officer gave me 5 days to have "all" of the tint removed and taken to the police station and have an officer sign off that I have removed the tint.

The law is strange here in PA. You can literally spray paint the back window in a truck if it has both side mirrors but on a car you are not allowed any tint on the rear window even if it has both side mirrors. Also keep in mind this is regarding aftermarket tint. If it come from the factory with tinted windows it is legal car or truck.

So I would check with your local state laws first. The officer that pulled me over said as long as he could see inside the vehicle when driving past, he probably won't have pulled me over. Yeah.. I think he was profiling ricers... :D he he..

I have 20% black tint on my front windows and factory tint on the rest.
It's a pretty good match but the front is actually a touch darker (which is only noticeable from the inside looking out).
I had a shop do the front windows for $50 w/5 yr warranty.
Hopefully you can see the pics in my signature to get an idea.
If it were any darker I would go crazy trying to drive at night.
As is it is frustrating for me at times.
Hope that helps.

I had a local shop tinit my front driver and passenger side windows, and the black strip across the windshield about 5 years ago. It ran me 99 dollars and the tintis guaranteed for life from all defects. The tint goes well with weather tech's low profile tinted rain guards.
