2003 Ford Expedition Won't Shift Out of Park

Brake light stop switch. Replaces Ford Part Number 2L1Z13480AA, 4L3Z13480AA and Motorcraft W0133-1702361. I used Napa part # SL814 and it works like a champ!

I am having the same problem with My Parent's 04 Expedition. It has the Column Shift. It just Randomly Won't shift out of Park. I removed the Lower Column Cover to access the mechanism to shift it manually after finding that same Video on YouTube. I just replaced that Brake/Light Switch and it's Still doing the Same Thing as it was before.

What rectangular piece are you talking about?

I circled it in Red for You. It Pops Out and then you have to Insert Your Ignition Key into the Opening and Shift to Neutral. Then You can Remove the Key and Start the Vehicle.

The PRNDL. Or in this case the PRND21. If the P doesn't light up when in Park but the others will light when it's in those positions you may have a problem in the solenoid that lets you shift out of Park. If the P does light up the problem is most likely your brake light switch.

Any advice where I can find information or directions on how to replace this solenoid?
