168k miles in 2003 EB. No issues to date except for brakes and rotors. Plus typical guild changes and plugs. Body is a mess on the rear hatch due to galvanic corrosion of the aluminum caused by the steel next to it and moisture. They better have that fixed for F150 whole body.

I currently have 152k on my 01 XLT, but I had 212k on my Eddie B that I totaled back during the winter and then proceeded to tow a 7k lb trailer 1500 miles the next day for a job that had to be done with no issues at all. Thats when I knew I would buy another. Eddie withstood pure torture in the snow. Without going into too much detail. It was stuck in a pond, yanked out by some massive equipment and jumped over a wall. With only minor damage to front bumper and frame horns bent it still drove fine and I shouldn't have sold it but oh well.

I have to say that the mod motors seem to be pretty tough excluding plugs, phasers etc. My first was in a 98 stang. I wanted so badly to put an old school pushrod motor in it because I just hated that new shit. Well I have become very familiar with them now (still not as familiar as the old school motors) I have to say that when my 5.4 with 316,000 goes it might get another one instead of a carbed 460

2003 Expedition EB 4x4

Just turned 362,000 miles. One of the first 2003 models, built in April of 2002. I've had the following issues - Probably 8 sets of brakes/rotors (warping), fuel pump (failed 8 1/2 miles in while hunting...), replaced various front end parts & rubber bushings, ECM replaced (PRNDL error), fan clutch replaced, shocks replaced at 300K. Would LOVE to buy a 2015, but this thing just keeps going!

Engine still runs great, but getting a "tapping" noise in the transmission when I put it in gear (cold start). The noise goes away quickly when it warms up. Any ideas what this might be? Kinda nervous about getting the transmission flushed after reading the posts...

Update: Just turned 374K. "Tapping" noise was broken bolt on drivers side exhaust manifold. Getting ready to replace hubs and actuators on both sides AFTER locating and fixing the vacuum leak. I just replaced the IWE solenoid.

Hey Fellas, new here post-wise but been up & down the forum for years when working on my '04 XLT.
My '04 XLT has 217,498 bought it with 21,700.
Replaced the usual - radiator/Alt,/Fuel Pump(s). Outside of the fuel pump relay issues and the water /windshield/Cylinder it's the best car I've ever had, at least a tie with a 1996 Toyota Camry I had with 271,000 plus on it.
I drive it daily still and I would suggest the model/year EXP to anyone. One piece plugs, good 5.4 motor, most flaws were worked out by then.
You will eventually have the usual fuel/air issue since the fuel pump relay is non-serviceable but don't go buying pumps, the relay will heat up and cause a no-run condition but the fuse box under the glove compartment is plug and play - bought a used fuse block at the local snatch-a-part and plugged it right in and went. Of course all of ya'll know this and all about the windshield/water and it fouling plugs and (fouls plugs usually #3) on mine.

'00 5.4/4r100 with 205,000. Only problem is the coolant leak that's been terrorizing me for the past few months.
