I went though a lot of trouble trying to use the stock sub and discovered it was much easier to just run a new wire to a powered sub. The factory stuff is super weak and even if you got a 12 to fit, you would need a real amp for it too work like it should. Stock amp is less them 40 watts.
Low fluid, need friction modifier or old clutch packs. I Would start by changing the fluid, pretty cheap and easy and a good chance of solving your problem.
Well guys, this is sort of a weird one. Last week i noticed there was oil on te bottom of my front differential. I jacked it up, got under there and saw gear oil by coating the diff. from the cover towards the pinion bearing/seal. I needed to change the oil anyway, so I drained the oil, cleaned...

thanks for the replys....good to hear this seems to be common with all 4r70w's. maybe i didnt notice since i really babyied it when i first got it. as far as fluid changes, the fluid was changed not long before i got it by a shop. still looks bright red and smells good. I guess ill stop worrying...

I agree. Most likely a pulley that needs replacing. I would follow the advice given above and then once you have verified it is a pulley, replace all the pulleys and belt in one repair. If you buy the parts online (rockauto) it is pretty cheap and good insurance to avoid being stuck on the side...
