Those morons at the NAPA tire center put friggin 90 psi in my tires. Every time I hit a bump I blew a valve stem. I was not a happy camper. I didn't figure I needed to check my tire pressure after having them mounted. After the second flat in less than 2 weeks, the tire guy in Whitehorse...
My 2000 5.4 was getting about 12.5 mixed driving. I changed the fuel filter and it went up to around 13.5. I am 1000 miles into my 2500 mile trip from Anchorage to Seattle and I am averaging 17.4. This is manually figuring the milage, not a trip computer. I am very happy with this. When I...
It turned out to be a bad valve stem. I think these are the original stems. I am 500 miles into my 2500 mile trip on some real crappy roads. So far no problems.
If you think it might be bad, just change it. I just changed the one on my 2000 Expedition. It took longer to put the car on the stands than it did to change the sensor. Sensor was $11 from Napa. It is 1 bolt and 1 plug in.
I have had the Expedition for more than 2 years without a flat, now I have had 2 flats in 2 1/2 weeks. I am leaving on a 2500 mile trip in 2 days and now I am worried about the tires. They are in good shape with a lot of rubber left. I have a brand new set of Goodyear Wrangler RTS's that I...
Well I got under the Expy today and changed out that sensor. It took all of about 30 seconds. I am doing my 100K service so I won't get it on the road until tomorrow. Hopefully the ABS light goes off.
I crawled under the Expy the other day and was looking at the sensor. It looks like there is only one bolt holding it in place. Looking at pictures of the sensor, it should just slide in. I know a guy on another forum that is a tech at a Lincoln dealership. I sent him a PM asking about...
KBB lists my XLT with 101,000 on the clock at $10,500 retail. It is a 2000, fully loaded with the 5.4. I would offer the guy $9500. Where are you located? Probably not in Alaska:(
