Has anyone tried the slip on panels? How do they fit and attach? Any known good ones (or bad ones to steer clear of)? My rockers are so bad I’m not sure there is much good material to weld to anymore. I think if it’s covered it will at least keep salt out and inhibit some further damage...
Has anyone found replacement rocker panels that fit well? I’d like to buy some aftermarket ones for cheap but sometimes they really don’t fit well at all. Looking for some options and feedback for my 2003. I’ve already replaced the radiator support and put in all new brake lines like some of...
^ Thanks and joined the group. However, I am not too sure I'd have luck with a 12 year old Expedition even though I am the original owner and have just under 80k original miles. I had bubbling in year 2 though and a shoddy repair by Ford in year 4 or 5 that bubbled and peeled again.
Those...
If anyone knows the fitting sizes I need that would really be helpful. That's my biggest unknown and while it isn't a big deal it sure would be nice to buy them all ahead of time instead of running back and forth to the store.
I just had the brake line on my 2003 expedition split right under the spiral wrapped section by the drivers side front wheel. Brake pedal went flat to the floor but I was able to stop, crimp the line, and limp it home. Lines are very rusted and I should replace them all.
Has anyone...
I find it absolutely crazy that Ford has had this same problem for over a decade on the same model. I would have been even more pissed if I upgraded my 2003 just to encounter the same thing again. Does Ford care about repeat buyers? I would have thought so especially with the dwindling...
I'm the original owner of a 2003 Expedition based in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I currently have only 77,000 miles and the vehicle has been stored in the garage for about half its life. It has never been in a crash or damaged in any way.
I had the bubbling issue with the paint on the...
Looks like I'll be able to let you know if the JL Audio Stealthbox fits an 03 in about 2.5 weeks when I get it.
Not the most prudent purchase I ever made at ~$850 after all things considered just to add a sub. Hope it fits!
I got my hands on the wiring diagrams. Those are connectors C405 and C465. They are not labeled as being for anything. I have no idea if C465 is for diagnostics or if those wires are something that could still be used for adding a factory subwoofer since the wire colors look the same as the...
On the top picture I posted you can see a purple wire, blue wire, green/black wire, and I believe yellow/black wire in a connector that presently isn't used. I was wondering if that was the harness for a subwoofer??? I see that the plug on your amp is different than the plug I have above. Did...
If I could find a good deal on one of those I'd try it in my 03 expedition. I had no factory subwoofer so I guess I'd just cut out a hole in the proper place once mounted and find a grill for it. If anyone knows a place to save a decent amount off retail let me know.
Can anyone reply if the open plug in the top picture is for the factory subwoofer? Would I be able to just put a factory subwoofer in there per questions above?
How bad was the OEM subwoofer? Looks like it was a 9" in a plastic housing??? Is it a simple plug and play with the amp mounted on top that won't require me to modify any of my storage box or cup holders on that left side panel? I'm not looking for major bass response. Just wanted to even...
I upgraded my head unit to a pioneer avic D3 about 5 years ago now. I never got around to upgrading speakers yet. Time to make that happen. I was thinking I'd put the HD radio adapter on the D3, change the door speakers, and perhaps add a subwoofer. I installed my D3 myself and am pretty...
I love my 2003 expedition and it's been good to me but one thing it has always needed and I am finally going to get around to doing is to add a center console or additional map light that faces right down in the center. I can't hardly see in the center console at all and I am not sure why they...
Turns out those torx heads aren't there after all. I took the lower dash apart and the plastic around the steering column. Definitely not there on my 03.
This was also easy to confirm with a picture I saw of it here -...
Drove to work this morning and everything was great until I parked and noticed my 03 expedition was rolling backwards slightly. Tried shifting through the gears. The gear selector has a lot of slop. It will appear to be in park via the indicator but it isn't. I put the parking brake on and...
more findings per my questions above...
It does seem that the preference is to not have any anti sieze on the plug threads at all. The autolite app103 seems to be nickel plated so as to not require anti sieze for corrosion control.
I disconnected my #2 coil and fuel injector wire connectors...
I found a couple interesting faqs on Blownoutsparkplug.com that have some relevant advice.
Q: Why do you prefer 28-32 foot lbs torque instead of the factory specification?
A: Over the past few years we have heard from many of our customers that they tightened their plugs to the correct torque...
I have an 03 expedition with 60K miles. It is throwing code P0302 so the number 2 cylinder is misfiring. I am thinking it is just the coil on plug. Since I'm replacing that I figured I might as well do my spark plugs now too. Some questions concerning that process.
1. Do you agree it is...
Cousin Eddie - What are your thoughts on the tires at this point? I am thinking of putting the same on mine. Debating on the standard or E class. I don't do much towing at all yet. I think I may be in about 2 years though and don't use the truck much so I'm considering the E now. I also see...
