Halo folks. My Navi just made me a brand new supprise... Rear diff is leaking. The oil is visible at the front part of the diff - just there where shaft is connected to the differential... I figured I need one of these National® 4278 - Lincoln Navigator 1999 Differential Pinion Seal, Rear...

98 Navigator - suspension height measurement method

Well... I'm not...:( We've had a fev Fronteras and Troopers but here in Poland that's rather common 4x4 car so we do have forums... On the other hand Expy or Navi are super exotic... No information locally whatsoever... If I've had dodge ram or ford explorer/ranger - that would be easier... but...

98 Navigator - suspension height measurement method

Well... The Trooper is green, long 2000 3.0 TD... :) And as far for the height sensors - My navi has 2 - rear (mounted in the middle of the car, between the frame and the axle) and front (driver side, mounted to the frame and upper control arm).. right side has no sensor at all.

98 Navigator - suspension height measurement method

Well, thanks for the response :) About the measurment - i know where to measure - I just do not know how to undestand the measured values. Does the distance measured for front and for the rear needs to be even ? Regarding torsion bars - I know, in time (and the car is almost 'adult') metal...

    Pitman arm replacement

Hi Guys. I'm preparing myself for this job... And I've learned that I need the puller to do this properly and in reasonable time. Question is - what size of the puller would be enough ? I found 29x54 mm and 35x65 mm... I know there is not much room for the tools so would be the smoller one...

98 Navigator - suspension height measurement method

Hi again. I'm still having problems with my suspension :( On the uneven surface, the ride is very 'bumpy' up and down... My mechanic played with torsion bar adjustments, and now i'm not sure how this shud be set. Thing is that when torsion bars are stiffer (upper) the air suspension is...

98 Navigator - suspension height measurement method

Hi there, As I'm still trying to figure out how the suspension works in the Nav, here is my question - how to properly measure the vehicle height and how to compare front to rear? I found that by tightening the torsion bars I can make it level left to right, but I have an impression that front...

    98 Navigator Transmission radiator replacement

Hi Guys, I found, that my transmission oil radiator and it's neighborhood is a bit wet (think it is fluid). I washed it with the engine washing solution and high preasure water jet, and now I'll be checking if it returns. If so - then I would have to replace the cooler. I found of ebay, the...

Air suspesion - actig strange - 98 Navigator

I made some progress - I looked under the car, and found that torsion bars were badly uneven - the screw from the passenger side was about half inch less in, than the other one. I screw it in, checking the level, and not it is straight. Booth when driving and on parking. So what is left is the...

Electrical gizmo - instrument cluster gone?

Another update for my problems - I discovered, that if I put the key in, turn it and the gauges doesn't work, I can 'shake' it a bit in the key whole... Then gauges turns on - meaning bad contact somewhere in the key whole - will have to take it apart and look... Still have that two lamps on...

Air suspesion - actig strange - 98 Navigator

Hi. Yes - that gives me some picture here - but my Nav doesn't ride up and down, until it is stopped and turned off. Only then - passenger side drops about a inch while drivers side stays where it was. And, I have all 4 bags / air shocks one year old - think too soon to be worn ?

Navigator 98 - what engine do I have?

Yes :):) It looks like mine (except for that plastic cover with 5.4 inscription on it - it is missing from my engine). But the air filter and air intake looks like in my Nav. I suppose in 32v there is different intake/filter housing than on this image?

Navigator 98 - what engine do I have?

Yes I know that - but my issue is that all documentation says 226 kW (which is roughly 300 PH) - and VIN says 5.4 2v (L) - so I'm confused. I know that my car left the factory in Michigan with 5.4 2v.. But providing that if the documents are good, that means the engine was swapped with the...

Navigator 98 - what engine do I have?

Good morning, Please do not lough, but my question is serious. I know what I should have under the hood - my Nav is 98, my VIN 8th digit is L so I should have V8 Triton 16v, something about 260 PH right ? Well - so why all my documentation, registration papers, and import from US papers...

Air suspesion - actig strange - 98 Navigator

Thanks for the reply - but - my problem is in the front of the car - not at the rear. This is front passenger side that drops when engine is turned off. The rear stays even. And all bags/air shocks has been replaced new a year ago...

Air suspesion - actig strange - 98 Navigator

That was the first think I did to find the problem source - I have an experience with the RR and leaking bags is quite common problem there. No leaks from shocks or airbags. And also I have an invoice (from ex owner) with 2 shocks and 2 airbags replacements fitted little over a year ago..

Air suspesion - actig strange - 98 Navigator

Well clicking comes from around the car - I can hear it on booth sides and also from front and back. As for the solenoid - on Ford-Trucks I found info, that there is only one for front, and the airlines that goes from front air shocks, goes to air t-junction and then by one airline to the...

Air suspesion - actig strange - 98 Navigator

Will certainly do - just after it stops raining :) I was digging over the YT and internet for that - but all I found was about rear leveling/dropping problems - Haven't found anything about R/L height differences. The strange to me is that it clicks and releases air only on the passenger side -...

Air suspesion - actig strange - 98 Navigator

Thank you for the reply - no I did not - previous owner said he serviced a whole air suspension about a year ago - and as far as I can tell - the bags and compressor looks almost new - no tears or wear on bags, and the label on the compressor (genuine Ford part) is still snow white. I was on...

Air suspesion - acting strange - 98 Navigator Welcome:) Small question about air suspension in Navigator. Previously I owned the Range Rover (2 actually), so I'm aware how the air suspension works and what to look in case of failure. However... My Nav, when not used a few days, stays high...

Electrical gizmo - instrument cluster gone?

On all surfaces there is just a regular dust layer. No corrosion, no burn signs. Everything is completely dry. I opened the GEM box, and found...
