Hope you figured out your shudder solution. If not, I'd say it sure sounds like a misfire. Having gone through this, I'd recommend 1st-scan for ALL codes-pending or not-then pull and test/examine the coils if there are codes. Look for oil/coolant within the boot. Corrosion on the spring also. Lastly, the plastic pigtail connectors are NOTORIOUS for breaking at the tab! Even if it "seems" to stay on-MAKE SURE! Try gently pulling on them when reinstalling. If the tab is broken, it WILL eventually vibrate loose enough to cause a misfire. Good luck!

For doing diagnostics I picked up the Veepeak obd2 adapter cheap. Then paid for the app called Forscan. Allows full reading of the OBDII modules and most of the Can-bus as well. Just be careful not to get a knockoff ELM chip adapter. They can be worthless.
