A better exhaust, and intake are the best places to start. I am currently a Magnaflow Cat back, and Volant , true cold air, intake. Programmer will be iffy in california, especially with custom tunes.

Was thinking plug and play one like sct or diablo so I could revert it back to stock for emission

Not sure about the legalities of tuning and trace ability. Probably talk to the guys at 5 Star.
