i just bought a 2001 expedition and i want to upgrade the cassette player to a newer model ford unit with navigation anyone know what'll fit in it... i was looking at a unit out of a f150 2007 but dont want to spend the 500 just to find out it is not compatible

anything can be done... it just depends how much work you feel like putting into it. The first thing you need to do is measure the opening of the headunit. If it's even close, I'd say go for it.

Then, once you have the unit, you can be about 99.9% positive it will NOT be plug & play. In other words, you'll have to do alot of retro-fitting and re-wiring to make it work. Like perhaps an entire wiring harness, antenna-yes, etc. Good luck, keep us posted should you decide to try it...
