How big of an engine lift?

Just curious for those that have pulled an engine out of one of these. What would be the minimum sized lift required?

I'm looking at an engine lift that has a boom height limit of 94", boom extension length of 45" and a lift limit of 1 ton. Would that be enough to get the engine clear of the body without having to set the truck down on a jack with no tires, or let the air out of the tires? If not, would it clear if I did?

Screw it, my spending finger was itchy . Just went ahead and bought one. I measured the hood level, and the engine height. Should have plenty of lift with the 1 Ton. I'll let the truck down onto some blocks if for some reason I need more.

Not ordering a kit, piecing it together over time. Will likely get all of the parts from Rock Auto though.
