Im looking at getting new tires. My truck is a stock 98 EB 2 wheel drive and the tires now are 265/75/16's. I want to know whats the biggest tire I can go with, without issues.

Also Id like a more rugged/mean looking tire....any suggestions??

honestly id stay with 265s for a 2wd, i think 285s (~33s) are going to give you issues.
BFG all terrains
Michelin LTX AT2s
Nitto Terra Grapplers
Mickey Thompson ATZs
Pro Comp All Terrain or Extreme AT
Goodyear Dura Tracs

Honestly I would choose from the top 3 because I have experience with those tires and I can say they're great, I love the Michelins on my dad's 03

My coopers have been pretty good too. These are 285's, but they also make a 265 model.

2wd no lift will rub with 33's. You'd have to trim alot if u want 33's.

I have 33's on mine. i have a 3.5/2 lift and did some trimming. :party36:

98EXeb, can you fit 33's. Sure. But what are you willing to do to make them fit. In short, to make the tires fit, you will end up taking a 3 pound hammer to the body of the truck to make them work. that is what I had to do to make 37's fit with my 4" lift. Then there is the possible tweaking of the front bumper which will require a steady hand and a cutoff tool to shave some of the metal off of the bumper. Again, this is something I had to do to make my tires fit. If done right, no one will know you have modified anything. You don't, well, it can go south in a hurry.

If you lived closer to me, I would tell you to stop by and I would hook you up. But, where you are, a little bit of a drive to come see me. But, stop by Coconuts there on the beach and drink one for me. That place has a lot of memories for me. I sure do miss the "Itsy Bitsy Halloweeny Bikini" Contest. Granted, was made all the better having 100 sailors all in there being the judges. To be young once again.

I think Im going to stay with the wheels I have. Thinking of just painting them. As for the tires, maybe a grand!
