Can anyone explain the "comfort setting" on the factory moonroof. I've only had my truck a couple of weeks and never noticed that the moonroof doesn't open the entire way with one push of the button. I thought something was wrong with the roof , but the owners manual calls it a "comfort setting". Is it cut down of excessive wind in the truck? Any ideas?

From the Owner's Manual:
To open the moon roof: Press and release the SLIDE control and the moon roof will open automatically to the “comfort” position. Press and release again to fully open. Press the
switch again to stop the moon roof.
To close the moon roof: Pull and release the SLIDE control, the moon roof will close automatically. Press the switch again to stop the moon roof.

It's to reduce the amount of "buffeting" noise that occurs when it's slid all the way back

You would think the little pop up shield would fix that. Guess it wasn't possible. It's just annoying to have to hit the button twice every time you want the roof fully opened.

Don't feel bad, ford was doing that long ago. My 05 has that same feature, if that's what you want to call it.

That little shield is almost worthless. It's been on every one of my vehicles that has had a moonroof. GM, Ford, no difference. It is louder if you reach up and push it down while you're driving

I also found that you can't even add one on because the satellite radio antenna is right in the way. Great planning.....

What year is this for? What do they mean the SLIDE control? I don't have an auto-close feature on my 07 EL unless I'm doing something wrong.

Both of us have 2012 models. Slide control is a fancy name for the button the works the roof.

Mine seems to be much closer to the moonroof. I haven't measured it, but I used the certified method of two knuckle lengths. It was the best I could come up with while driving. :)

The illuminated sills and factory organizer should be delivered on Friday.

Are you talking about adding the Ford accessory sunroof wind deflector? The reason they say it doesnt fit is because it would have to be modified to accomodate the satellite radio antenna. It's been done before though, check out this guys site, some cool mods done.
