By and large, a cold air intake, for just about any car/ truck, is a complete waste of money. Use you scanner while the engine is running and monitor the iat. It is always about the same as outside air. Furthermore, mileage claims: These things get terrible mileage. The engineers are trying very hard to eek out even a 1/10 of a MPG more to raise CAFE numbers. It is, and has been, one of their top mandates in final product.

If anyone thinks they can get one or two mpg by using this CAI or that sparkplug, or this tornado, yada yada, well W.C. Fields said it best.

I have seen the S&B. I have a K&N CAI on my 2012. I've been getting about 17 mpg lately. Also have a Flowmaster 40 muffler. Don't know if either one helped gas mileage that much, but they sound cool.

s&b doesn't fit the expedition.

I contacted S&B and they researched and said the F-150 model would fit the Expedition... or theyd give 100% refund.

I havent done too much comparison to other brands, but I think this is true for K&N and Volant.... the F-150 model is the same model that fits into the Expedition ( year for year, with the same engine.)

Every little bit helps! Its it going to turn your vehicle into a race car, no! But it will give you a little more power since fords have always ran a little rich! I have seen cai and a can tune help the expys gain 15-20 hp and 1 mpg.

Did you end up ordering the S&B intake?

Yeah, I ordered the s&b intake, got it last week, it looked like a really nice product, however, my vehicle has a hood sensor where the overflow tank is so it ended up not fitting exactly like an F-150. :frown: S&B was great though, they are refunding all my money and paying for shipping charges for the return.... just disappointed it didnt fit. I really liked the look of it.

I noticed you have a 2007... while doing research, I found that before 2009, the expeditions had a pressurized overflow tank, which is not the same as the F-150s. So just FYI if you are also looking.

Also, If anyone was interseted, I reached out to Volant and they are doing some test fits on their F-150 - 2009 & 2010 CAI on the same year of expeditions.... Ill let you know if they say they fit.

VA epxy, isn't that just hood sensor for the remote start ? I would have just relocated it or bypassed it altogether. Its only there so you cant remote start the vehicle with the hood open.

Good point, I think I would have moved it a couple inches to the right, assuming there's room between the hood shock and overflow tank.

Yeah, if I had more time.( I have an 18 month old and a 8 month pregnant wife...so I was lucky to get the 30 mins to install it.) I could have tried modifying it. But the sensor wasnt just the only conflict.

In the pictures the new box is not bolted in. But when you do bolt it in, it pulls the box under the lip in the car. This lip would then extend over the box's clear plastic lid about 1". Not that big a deal, but could make it difficult to remove the Box lid.

The Plastic trim over the radiator doesnt line up with the contour of the box, and the box pushes the plastic trim upward.. so this would need to be cut otherwise it looked like it would interfere with closing the hood.

Each of these things could be modified. Relocate the anti-theft alarm sensor ( I dont have a remote start), Cut the Plastic trim covering the radiator, Get some longer Bolts and some spacers to space the box further away from the side( and not under the lip)

But overall, The box was a very tight fit, and seemed to be be wedged in there pressing against things it probably shouldnt be touching.... It just didnt feel right enough for me to make it work. For $300 bucks it was a nice set up, but it is not the direct fit that I was hoping for.
