Dump the collector / y-pipe (where the two pipes merge) and put an aftermarket one on.

From there, take your pick, I don't think there's a significant difference.

Personally, I like straight-thru designs like Magnaflow (and a few others) versus baffles that potentially could restrict flow (like FLowmaster and most others).

If your 07 is the same as my 08(has to be) then replacing the Y pipe would be a waste as Ford did a great job. The bends are nice and free of kinks and the Y pipe itself has no restrictions in it or downsizing. I think a true dual may be all we can do besides dumping the stock can. I am intrigued by the huge cans that are put on just after the exhaust mans. They are massive resonators or at the very least look like it.Any ideas? RaiderNations what did you think when you looked at it? Or have you had time to look. It is crazy but Ford must want to kill the exhaust note or tune it. I can't hearthe exhaust anyway so it makes no difference to me. I will wait to see what you do exhaustwise and hopefully converse with you about your intake.

Just another thought...the cats might be want I am seeing just after the exhaust mans. They may not be resonators. I just realized this last night.

You more than likely have precats and cats on each side. The precats are usually smaller so they can light off faster.

Those things are big. I still have not had the time to really look around. I have not owned a Ford before many Nissans and Chevys but no Fords. I like the vehicle but she has a lot to pull and not much motor to do it with. Thanks for the info.

I hate drone. Other than the drone its fairly quiet, until I'm on it with something beside the tail pipe otherwise I don't hear it over the cold air. I've only heard it from off a friends car once when he was on the passenger side when I was towing and it sounded nice.

This is on a 99 4.6

Anyone every uses any Mac Performance products?

I know they have a lot of products for the F150/Expedition and their prices seem really low. I've heard they are pretty good quality, too. Just another option for you guys.

They seem to have quite a bit of stuff but very little for an 07-08. I guess these are still pretty new in the eyes of the tuners.
