Ok I know there are threads out there asking can this be done and how. Ive done alot of research and will update this as I go.

My 2012 Expedition has the full bench 2nd row. I removed the middle section. Please note that not only will this expose holes in the carpet but two of them are straight through meaning you can see the road and hear it:rofl: Make sure you put those two back. I purchased a new center console off of ebay. Here is the trick though. The center consoles came from a Navigator not an Expedition. But they match the front console in looks and design for obvious reasons.

Mounting

Here is where I say "If your going to do something might as well do it right"
There are two ways to mount the console. One is to drill new holes on the floor and stick a bolt through the box into the new holes. Keep in mind the fuel tank is under there (seen it done on another forum:throw:). Two is to buy the proper mounting brackets from Ford. The issue here is that they are very hard to find. I was only able to get the front one from my wife's dealer, the rear one is discontinued, so its old stock. I found the rear one on ebay for about $45 shipped. I only saw one more though (good luck)

Front Bracket 2l7z-78045b34-aa

Rear Bracket part number 2L7Z78045B32BA

I received the front bracket yesterday and it does bolt up to the existing holes. So that was a relief since this is all experimental. I will post pics later of the brackets.

Please note that if your expedition does have the captain chairs that this will be another issue. You would have to cut your carpet to look for the holes and you will have to remove your armrest on the captain chairs as they will rub the console.

Here is a picture of the console. Keep in mind that the one for the 2nd Gen are different.

I've been hoping to see someone end up doing this. I've been looking at doing this for a couple months now, but don't want to lose the ability to fold the middle section down for a fold flat floor for when I buy a house and need to move a bunch of shit. One thing I was worried about was the texture of the leather. The Navihaters seem to have a different leather texture than the EX. Anything worth noting?

Looks identical to me! And even then, it's such a small piece that U would not notice it.

That's great to hear. I'll quit being afraid and possibly try to pick one up this winter. Anything special about either of the brackets that would prevent me from being able to male them myself with some sheet metal if I can't find a set?

The other thing that I have to do is repaint the box. Of course my wife picked stone interior for the expedition which is the hardest to find parts for. No biggie bc Ive been painting the interior parts on my mustang to restore them. Ill post pics when I get home

Ok so the wife and kid went to do mommy daughter crap so I decided to paint. I took the lid apart and removed it. I then taped off the chrome ring around the cup holders and removed the black inserts. This is a new box so not much cleaning was needed. I just ran some rubbing alcohol around it to remove any loose dirt or finger oils. I then prepped the box with BULLDOG adhesive promoter. Then applied the SEM auto paint in light stone. Word of advice, don't go heavy on the promoter bc it will fill in the factor grains on the box. A light coat is all that is needed. This whole thing took one focking can btw. If you guys have any questions on where I got this paint and on colors pls let me know. I can point you in the right direction
