Freeway, you can get E85 at the airport, or most Navy bases.

What does E85 go for per gallon compared to regular fuel? It would have to be a bit cheaper to make it worthwhile since the Expy doesn't get the same gas milage, right?

If you research you will find that E85 gets about 20-30% less mpg and the cost difference is typically slightly less so it is really a wash as far as saving $$.

E85 makes sense for those running boost because of the much higher octane it offers. (Basically cheap race gas) but for N.A. vehicles that run on 87 octane I personally see no advantage.

Ford made such a good move with putting a v-6 twin turbo in trucks. Chevy and Dodge have some cathing up to do. The fuel economy probably wont be any better with the eco boost but the power will be nice. I like the front end much better then the 3rd gen expeditions. It is like a cross between navigator and expedition but with out the ugly navigator grill. The interior looks way better as well. 3rd gens are kind of blocky inside. I wonder when we can actually go see them in a show room, hopefully soon.

The 2015 is just a refresh. While there are some impressive changes, there are simply not enough to merit calling it a new generation. Its just a continuation of the third genereation. It also continues to use the thrid generation program name "U324" (standard wheelbase) and "U354" (long wheelbase). The body, half-ton T1 frame, and four-wheel independent suspension remain relatively unchanged.

3.5 will be plenty to lots of people but lack in towing power, sticking to 5.4.

Has anyone seen the 2015 Tahoe? Maybe it is my irrational hatred for the bowtie, but it is one ugly looking vehicle...

I think the torque from the 3.5 way outperforms the 5.4 sadly...

Here in Florida it's a little less than $3 a gallon.

Are there only Platinum trims out and about at the shows or any trims levels for mere mortals?

I'd really like to see an XLT or Limited.

Some people will always have the opinion that a V-8 will always be better than a V-6, even when the V-6 makes more torque and horsepower.

The V-6 is perceived as being less than. But here is some food-for-thought, there was a point in time when early trucks and pickups didn’t have V-8s. The biggest engines offered were up to six-cylinders. Even when eight-cylinder engines made their entrance into the truck world, the six-cylinder engines remained very popular for a long time.

Old advert from Ford for its "new" six-cylinder powerplant

More food-for-thought? Torque ouptut ratings are in descending order, from greatest to least:

2015 Ford Expedition .............. 3.5 EcoBoost V-6 ........... 370 horsepower, 430 lb-ft of torque
2015 Mercedes-Benz GL 450 .... 4.6 BiTurbo V-8 .............. 362 horsepower, 406 lb-ft of torque
2015 Toyota Sequoia .............. 5.7 i-FORCE V-8 ............. 381 horsepower, 401 lb-ft of torque
2015 Dodge Durango ............... 5.7 HEMI V-8 ................. 360 horsepower, 390 lb-ft of torque
2015 Nissan Armada ................ 5.6 VK56DE V-8 ............. 317 horsepower, 385 lb-ft of torque
2015 Chevrolet Tahoe .............. 5.3 EcoTec3 V-8 ........... 355 horsepower, 383 lb-ft of torque
2014 Ford Expedition ............... 5.4 Triton V-8 ............... 310 horsepower, 365 lb-ft of torque

With 430 lb-ft of torque, the Expedition will accelerate like a rhino on crack, and easily get a heavy multi-axle trailer up to speed. Much faster than the 5.4 Triton V-8 can.

I think the v-6 will preform alot better then the v-8 when it comes to towing. The boost makes so much a difference. Turbos have come so far in the past years. The lag isnt as big of an issue as it was in the past. I am going to convince my dad to buy the new expy with eco boost instead of a pathfinder or explorer.

Here is the Expedition King Ranch. Caribou replaces Pale Adobe for two-tone colored models on the lower front and rear bumpers, lower bodywork and running boards. New exterior and interior colors, interior trim, alloy wheels, and features will be offered for 2015. Note some of the Satin silver beauty trim of the high end Platinum is absent.
