I ordered a posi-lock for my front end from my local 4 Wheel Parts store front. Gonna take longer to get it than ordering from the web, but actually turned out cheaper for me, and they take good care of me.

Decided to not bother screwing around with the vacc motor and lines, after looking at the install process appears that it will just be faster and easier to replace it with something more reliable instead of screwing around troubleshooting bloody vaccuum lines.

Plus no more worries about if the disconnect is working or not. Ahhhh peace of mind

Today I drove it to work because YESTERDAY, I did the following: Fixed an electrical problem that presented as a bad Range Sensor:

Trans was shifting into neutral on fwy or downshifting erratically, etc. I had previously replaced the Range Sensor but got no improvement. Then I noticed it seemed to act up when I would hit bumps in the road. I replaced the connector to the range sensor with the connector + pigtails from Ford. Didn't fix problem. Researched a bit and decided to check connection at PCM (Powertrain Control Module). Seemed a bit loose. Removed battery and battery tray for better access (2001 Expy). Undid bolt and removed connector, sprayed with connector cleaner (non chlorine type) replaced and bolted back on tightly-problem solved. Shifter normal.
Also cleaned battery terminals-were a bit corroded and battery wasn't charging well. So far, so good.

Replaced the intake manifold gaskets, swapped out a bad vacuum hose, cleaned the egr. And maf sensors. Took out the stock intake with k&n drop in filter and put the volant cold air intake back on, did a motor flush and changed the oil and filter, threw in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner.

She runs like a champ again!

Replaced fuel filter changed the oil nothing big except gas all over my face guess next time ill turn my head the other way haha. Spark plugs are next im dreading that any tips..

I don't think there are any tricks to doing the spark plugs on an expedition, just make sure you have a whole day set aside to do them, and get good plugs, since you are doing so much work to get to them you might as well put good plugs in...

Oh and I've heard allot of stories of people breaking the spark plugs while removing them. When I did mine I sprayed a bit of liquid wrench into each cylinder to loosen up the plugs abit, if you know that the plugs haven't been done for a long time spraying something to loosen them up would probably be a good idea.

If you had time I would say to spray them the night before and let it sit all night and then start removing them the next morning. Best of luck it's a really nice feeling after its done and it certainly adds a bit of pep to the motor.

Thanks for info I will definitely spray them the night before ive heard of them breaking off too that would suck. Im pretty sure they haven't been changed they look to be oem motorcraft im not sure what plugs to put in her yet any suggestions. I been thinking of removing the silencer from the intake

If you have the 2 valve you don't have to worry about breaking plugs. That's an issue with some 3 valves. If you have a 3 valve I've found having the engine warm helps a lot.

I would think the motorcraft ones would be a good choice, I think Ford knew that the plugs for these motors would be on for a long time before they get changed out, I've also heard that almost all plugs, even the cheapest plugs are very good but the difference in price comes from the service length of the plugs, the more expensive ones generally last longer than the cheap ones, so a good quality plug of any brand would be a good idea.

Just removed intake silencer from intake haven't noticed much just a bit more throttle response will see how the gas mileage goes now. That silencer aint the easiest to remove some needle nose pliers and a long flathead did the trick bout 20mins of some choice words

Where exactly is the silencer on the intake? I have an 01 and I put a volant intake on my expy I don't know which stock piece was the silencer

Its in the elbow of intake right after the trottle body and before the filter its inside the bend if you put a after market system you probably removed the whole thing all together.

Well i started blacking out the dashboard on my 02 Eb today, i am going to change the interior to black and tan with blue lighting or just black and blue with blue lighting. the hardest part im running into is how to change the color of the gauges and compass readout, they are green now so if anybody knows of a way to turn them blue please help.

The gauges should be easy enough to change if you buy a gauge cluster set that has it's own illumination, I honestly find most of those kits to be alil tacky though.

I did find one aftermarket white face gauge kit that has tinted blue plastic so it would change your gauge lights to blue. You could even upgrade the cluster lights to white or blue led also to add to the effect. I'll post up a link to the eBay sale if i can find it still.

As far as the compass, the actual color of the display is whiteish/blueish originally, it's the plastic that sits in front of it that's green tinted so it changes the compass display color to green.

So that would be tough, because that plastic piece is going to be tough to replace with anything else.

The 97 expedition came with blue gauges, does anyone know if the 97 Eddie bauers or xlts came with a compass/temp display? If it did I bet it would be blue as well.

That would be a tough find here because vehicles get destroyed fast due to rust, 1997 vehicles aren't on the road here or even in the junkyards lol. They probably all rusted away to dust by now lol.
