My new-to-me '97 with air suspension sits significantly lower than my stock '98 without air suspension. The '98 is still on the tow lot after being totaled, so I can't measure, or look for the difference, but I would sure like the new one to sit higher.

Does this have anything to do with the air suspension? Doesn't seem likely to me.

What are the general impressions of the air suspension? I notice two things:

1) It rides really nice
2) The sound, when entering/exiting the vehicle is annoying as heck

Air sits lower, coils sit higher. But if you do a conversion try to get coils that come off a expy with HD towing. Or buy it for HD towing. They also sit higher and hold more weight

they could have a lift...body lift...how is the ride??? that's the important thing...it could've have been dropped...if the only concern is ride height in comparison to others than I don't see a prob...unless the ride is being compromised

Mine sat lower on air ride, gained about and inch or so when I converted to coil springs. My mom has the same year and ours used to sit even until I converted. So you're not cray cray, the air ride just sits lower.

The ride is great, actually. But my wife no longer feels like she's driving a truck; more like a big car.

Quick update - air compressor was on the fritz, so in went the Monroe conversion kit. Much, much better. No more compressor noise; the vehicle sits much, much higher and my wife feels like she has a truck again. Happy wife, happy life.

Thanks for the recommend, guys!
