Has anybody on here just swapped out the stock muffler for a magnaflow? I searched this forum but could only find catback systems. If you have done it, could you let me know the part number muffler you used

ppl have done it...there's a lot of threads on muffler....exhaust...duals...and it has been noted on those threads...it has been done but I highly suggest doing cat-back to maximize the performance of the muffler

I don't know about the second gen expys, but on the first gen, the inlet exhaust pipe is bigger than the outlet tail pipe. Get under and measure the pipes. That'll tell you what size inlet/outlet you need. You'll also need a section of pipe to make up the length difference, as the stock muffler is enormous.

If you're going to get it welded up someone, you could just have them check it out and let you know what size and orientation inlet/outlet you'll need.

I saw the full catback, but with my discount it's still $575. I believe that the inlet is offset and the outlet is center, but the longest 3" muffler I cand find is only 18". I believe that the stock one is at least 23".

I've been going back and forth with this too, whether to do just the Magnaflow muffler or catback... But I found a site that has the catback for $470 shipped so I'm going to get it after I recover from the holidays.

For the record, I paid $160 parts & labor for a borla muffler and new tailpipe at my local muffler shop.

Guys that I s the problem, I just need to know what muffler guys are running.

why didnt u just ask that? there are PLENTY of threads asking the very same question...most have flowmaster...gibson is close...a few borla...and a couple of others...there is a thread identifying ALL the mufflers on the market as of maybe 2 yrs ago and lists MSRP price along with sound in decibals...size (l x w x h) piping diameters...EVERYTHING...when u find it u will know due to the LONG list of mufflers/sizes...DI/DO....DI/SO...SI/SO...SI/DO...everything
