ExpeditionAndy, did you receive ignitors with you HID package? Reading about the HID systems, it states that ignitors are needed for "starting" or initiating the xenon bulbs. There was no mention of them in the order I have tried to contact XenonHIDs.com but their communication and support is somewhat lacking.

Did you receive the ignitors or is this all within the Galaxy ballast units? Thanks man.
Sorry I didn't see your message yesterday. Everything is self-contained in the ballast. Here are my install pictures.

Thanks

so you had run separate 12 v wires up to the ballasts?

Pretty sure most ballasts are built to hook straight into the harness for the halogens they replace...mine sure did

No it's plug and play. The wires coming out of the plastic housing come from the factory wiring and go into the ballast and the wires going into the dust cover comes from the ballast and goes to the bulb.

This is what I got from Amazon. They are coming from China and are taking for freakin' ever to be delivered. There are many choices for the replacement bulbs. These have projector ends and are ideal for back-up lighting.

Glad you did the right thing and finding the driver... Some people feel entitled to extort others for more money. You say "******* Balls". I see it as him having NO balls what so ever. Balls=Honor in my book. You hold the honor, now he holds YOUR balls...
Well I eat crow on this one... These LEDs DO NOT FIT either the base or the lens orifice. Mind you I will only eat crow served Jamaican style with Jerk seasoning! Sorry about that. Back to the drawing board on better back up lighting.

Hi Andy,

I received my HID kit today. It came without the "Factory wire harness" which is #4 in image below. Do I need this? Your photos indicate you used one. Help! I wanted to do the install tomorrow. I did email xenonHID.com and inform them with the same question. Thanks.

Duh, eatin' crow here. I did receive the wire harness, just set them aside. It's tough gettin' old!! Sure beats the alternative though...
Hey no problem. I've been fighting connectivity issues on my main computer. The last MS Windows 10 update screwed up my network connection. I have a new motherboard and my son is going to swap that out for me tomorrow. Now I'm on my laptop.

If you have any questions, send me a private message and I'll give you my phone number and you can call if you have any questions.

Finally got it installed after some frustration. It was not plug and play for me as the connectors are laid out with the clips. I had to reverse polarity from the factory harness to the ballast. I figured it had to be something simple so I did not swear or raise my voice at all. I am good to go. I did cut out the rectangular taped section with a dremel tool and it makes it look somewhat neater.

Again Andy, thanks for your help.

Okay great, I forgot about the having to reverse the polarity. Sorry about that. It was easy I just reversed the factory connect that came from the housing and went to the ballast.

You will really like them when you go for a drive tonight.

Drove into town tonight (40 mile round trip up and over a mountain pass) and I must say... The HID lights make a HUGE difference. I am very happy to have made the conversion choice. They are not offensive to oncoming traffic and light reflective signs up perhaps a thousand feet down the road. My direct path is flooded with light with the cut offs very obvious. I would encourage any Expedition owner to think about this conversion.

Ain't it the truth!! I have been shooting an invasive specie of Ring Neck Doves around my area for a year now. Great sport!
we have rock doves and ring necks here, they crack me up at the feeders, really timid towards other birds....but let a dove walk up and they get nasty with the new dove

I made my modifications to my HID installation over the weekend. I ran all of my connections out the hole I made in the housing. I think it looks a lot better.
