New to this forum. I just purchased a 2005 XLT, and I want to add a lift maybe running 33s or 35s. I'm not going tom be doing any major off-roading just some back woods trails and maybe some ocean beaches. I'm new to these rigs and not real sure if any of these spacer types lifts are worth the money. Like I sad I'm not going to be out every weekend beating up my rig in the mud or boulders just traveling to some backwoods lakes and rives towing a small boat or other trailer on occasion. What's the best option without spending a ton of money. Thanks for the help.

Adding a 3/2 or 3.5/2.5 leveling kit is probably one of the more common ways to get a mild lift. They call them leveling kits because the front and rear spacers are a little different to reduce the rake. I picked up some 3.5/2.5" spacers off eBay and added them when I replaced springs and shocks. I'm running 35's with a +10 offset and required a little trimming to prevent rubbing.

Hey Bob,

Love the look of your truck. Is it a Limited? Is that an off the shelf bumber or custom fabrication? Love to have one of those on my '06 Limited.

The spacers your reffer to, are the spring rubbers or spacer at the mounting points? Could you provide a link to the spacers that you got from Ebay?

Thanks,

I fit 285 70 17 on a stock 04 .i have a 3.5 2.5 lift to put on it. Should fit 35s. I trail ride and river run with mine and at stock it does just fine for little stuff.

Thanks! It's not a limited, just the Eddie Bauer version. Bumper is made to order from WAM Bumpers.

As for the spacers, they are mounted to the top of the coil over assembly.... see the small extension at the very top? The silver colored nuts are what mount the spacer to the coilover assembly and the gold colored HW is what mounts the entire assembly to the vehicle. Install is pretty straight forward.

Looks like install would be pretty straight forward. Jack the truck up, pull shock/spring assembly, bolt spacer to the spring and then reinstall. Is it truly that easy?

Pretty much... you've got to disconnect a few things to get it out of course and, with the extension on top, it took a little effort to reconnect the bottom to the lower control arm but not too tough.

Thanks for the replies, I think I have a starting point. I was looking at strut masters coil overs, anyone have experience with their products?
