I like you Mike, but I do have to say.....

What is it you do again?

Kidding! I need more fingers to keep up with the engineer reference. Here in Texas we refer to majority of engineers as obstacles lol. In all seriousness though, y'all tend to be good at getting in the way of progress.

Redneck engineering for the win!

Thanks for the slam
Everything you post on this thread is negative so why bother
Do you enjoy irritating folks needlessly?
Never said anything negative about you
Not sure what you do or why you are even on this thread
If you have nothing to add that is truly productive regarding tuning the 3.5L ECO Boost engines why bother
Sounds to me like you are the one inhibiting progress

Started this thread to share my experience with calibrations on my 2018 EXPY
Has nothing to do with diesels or your opinions
I am not even interested in diesels at all at this time
BTW your Cummins engine was designed by their power train engineering group some of which I have had the pleasure of meeting
Even new some of them who worked on ADIABATIC engine technology

SO there GRUMPY!!!

BTW for all who are interested here is a chart showing the typical HP gains for various octane levels
Seems to be some errors in the gains column but at least shows actual HP & Torque

Wow, that's a lot of gain on the 93 tune! I'll definitely be doing that tune, since we have PLENTY of 93 octane down in the south. Thanks Mike for the feedback.

I'm guessing the graph is for pure performance tunes. Which would mean the performance/tow tunes would make a little less. I'm guessing about 20hp less....?

while i do not have the exact figures typically Performance/ towing tunes produce more low end torque & a bit less peak hp
That can be accomplished by controlling the throttle opening

Guy you clearly took a joke too personal

Every engineer likes to highlight they're an engineer. Except electrical engineers, they're more modest..... then again it's a more prostegious and more lucrative compared to mech.

Either way......

Also I'm in this thread largely because I think tuning gassers is cute, and because I just feel like it.

Nontheless carry on!

So about this 4sec 0-60.... how' that video coming?

@Blackscreen67 Go bother someone else. I heard there is a tracker pull tonight. Maybe your negative comments will be welcome there...

Being you live in Illinois which is the land full of violence and rampant state corruption, I find it odd you feel inclined to refer to what was clearly satire as negativity. If your reference to a "tractor"(or sled as some may call it) pull was supposed to be an cultural insult you should be ashamed. You northerners should know that it's not just tractor pulls anymore! It's full blown monster truck shows, moto-x, 1/8 and 1/4 mile drags, and show and shine of rigs and setups that have more money than a loaded out plat expy put in to their engine bay alone. I love redneck with those 6 figure + paychecks.

I mean geez, this trucks got a quarter milli into it alone....

The best way to #MAGA is to do a little of the below!

Back to your reason to post on something that wasn't geared to you. Apparently it hit a nerve. You're an engineer too I presume?

I'm still waiting for that 0-60 in 4 sec video.

Nope, I'm not smart enough to be an engineer. I'm a Mattress Inspector.

Been 2 days since I gave them stock tune, so I emailed them and asked when I'll be getting a tune. And they responded that they are understaffed and don't know when they'll get to me. Not what I wanted to hear...... :-(

Could request a refund then work a deal with JMS for updating their instructions for 2015+ Ford vehicles that require 12 Volts run, as well as updating their pics of their modules, as they're a lot different than those online and in their instructions.

Word of caution for anyone entertaining a 5 star tune.

Sct, bullydog, AND ALL AFFILIATED TUNERS providing Tuning software and hardware components used to facillitate tunes such as what 5 star presents are all associated with Derive.

Derive has reached a temporary settlment with the Fed's to prevent that is a monetary settlement for fines in addition to agreement to cease and desist tuning outside of oem specs.

What does this mean for those tuning or thinking of tuning?

It means you will not have any device support. It means you will not be able to receive updates. It means the tuners you use will disappear with time.
This means no warranty aswell.

If you think oh not possible..... just google H&S tuning. Fed's literally shut them down.

The Fed's are out for blood with the tuner market.

5150 pops your choice to use a cooler system is the best method as this modifies all then sensor singles and tells the system to advance timing in the injection prior to tdc. This creates more fuel within the pulse and in return creates greater cylinder pressure. Cylinder pressure = heat and heat spools turbos better than rpms down low.

This is turbo charging 101.
