I'm one of those people who much prefers a dedicated winter wheel/tire setup (as opposed to switching tires twice a year on a single set of wheels). Especially given I have the 22's.
I ended up picking up a set of take-off F150 17's and a very low mileage set of 265/70 Yokohama Iceguard i51v's all-in for about 600 bucks. Wanting something a little different I plasti-dipped the wheels black. I had planned on running the oem blue center caps, but what I didn't realize is how long the stub was on the rear halfshaft. Wheels fit just fine, but the center caps won't fit. This isn't an offset issue, it's an problem with how thick the mounting face of the wheel is (although that does contribute to overall offset). I'm assuming since F150's have the solid rear they don't have these stubs. What I don't know is if this is a problem just with the 17's or would be an issue with other OEM F150 wheels as well.
The setup did great in the snow today, but I'm pursuing center cap alternatives as on not sold on the visual without.
