So we pulled towards eastern Ohio this weekend, went to Salt Fork State Park. The Expedition pulled beautifully! Maintained around 63 to 65 normally and around 55 to 60 on some of the bigger hills. Tried to keep the RPM's below 4k on the hills too. It pulled beautifully all weekend. Got somewhere in the 8 MPG range which was ok. That's about 110 miles one way for us, I know alot of you pull further, but now that I got my feet wet pulling around 100 miles with our TT, further would be no problem.

In the past I have pulled cars and boats further than 100 miles, sometimes alot further... But there is a HUGE difference between pulling a boat/car and a camper. Now we can see how far we may go next time?

We just got back yesterday from a tour of New England. 1850 miles total on the Expy, 1350 while towing a 27' TT. No complaints, even through the Appalachians.

My first time ever towing was pulled last year, when I pulling my trailer from Irvine to Houston. Expedition EL 2017, with a 31 foot, 7K lbs trailer. I was so glad we made it in one piece, especially having to pass through windy West Texas. My wife said side of the trailer was off the ground as I passed a truck (she traveled behind me in our car). I've since slowed down and my WDH setup has improved.

Congrats on safely completing your first towing experience, and here's to making great memories.

Thank you, but it isn't my first tow. I have had this trailer for almost 2 years, but that's the furthest its been so far. Looking at getting a F250, so we can go further distance...

We also just completed our longest tow. I went from Shenandoah Valley in Virginia to Va. Beach. Round-trip it was 552 miles. I too found that the sweetspot was between 63-65 MPH @2600 RPMs. I averaged 9.1 MPG on the trip. Also watched the Trans temps as this was the longest tow and she normally ran at 213 degrees. She did creep up to 226 in stop and go traffic but dropped back down once on the open road.
