2018 XLT with Tow Package so 3.77 gears
20" hankook dynapro atm have 30K Miles on them.

Tires seem to have gotten loud and bouncy.

Looking for a quieter smoother ride. Leaning toward Michelin LTX M/S 2's I think is what they are called.

Wouldn't mind an AT since in Maryland we get pretty decent winters where. Travel up north for a good bit during the winter as well.

Keeping stock Rims. 275 55 20

What has everyone else gone with?

My Dynapros are getting worn pretty good. I can run this season with them and then flip over to my winters and rims. But next summer I will need new ones. Currently have my eye on:

  • Toyo Proxes S-T
  • Toyo Proxes ST III
  • Continental Cross Contact LX20
  • Yoko Prada Spec X PA02
Just need to make sure they have XL load available.

I would recommend nitro terra grapplers g2. Best of both worlds with quietness and all terrain capability. Michelin’s are nice too though

Really Nittos over a Michelin? Never had Nittos, I'm coming from German Crossovers and Sedans. Typically went Conti's.

How many miles on yours. 30K not bad IMO but again Run flats and performance tires barely made it 20k.

The Dynapros suuuuuck. I had two unrepairable flats in the first 10k miles. I always ran Michelins on my F150 and never had any problems....will by flipping to those when it's time to pull these crappy Hankooks.

Hard to tell exactly as I run winters and steel rims. I would say the Dyna's have about 50,000 kms on them. My expy has about 76,000kms on the odo.

I understand why most new cars and trucks come with the likes of Kumho, Hankook, etc the lowest bidder....but I really find that more often than not these OE tires always wear quickly. on a 80K rig they should be equipped with Michelins or similar.

I have the Michelin Defenders 275/60r20 on my Plat and 10k miles on it. While I cannot compare, I am pretty happy so far. All in hot TX heat and NM, sometimes unpaved roads. No off road.

I decided for them based on Consumer Report and the general reputation of Michelin to produce top tires, especially for aquaplaning situations...

I'll also recommend Nitto Defender tires.

In your research you'll find Michelin (and other mfgs) do produce lesser quality tires exclusively for big box stores like Sams/WalMart, Costco, BJs, etc. So always be aware of model numbers in research and reviews.

Marketing decision results don't always go as planned. A coworker bought a complete turd of a "John Deere" riding mower at Lowes with nothing but deck pully/balancing type issues. The local Deere dealers can't get parts for it and refused to work on it. Well, there you have it, he was sold on Deere quality, (thought he) bought one, and will never buy the brand again.

What was my point again? Oh yeah, Cooper are junk. Never an OEM tire and never will be.

Michelin LTX M/S2 prateds are a nice highway ride, okayish mild offroad, and utterly useless in snow

I was happy with em cause I got my 18's for like $103/ea though... if it's a grand for a set like it seems to cost right now for 20's, I'd pass on that

If you find Goodyear Wranglers to be name-brandey enough, those ARE still dirt cheap @ walmart.com even in 20"

We replaced the Hankooks with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S’s in 22” on our Expedition before it left the dealership. We really like the tire. Drives and rides nice, and handles mud roads as well or better then my pickup with the Michelin LTX A/T2. We don’t do any serious off roading tho, just typically use in a rural area in south central Kansas.

Go ahead and get the Ridge Grapplers if you are riding in the FX4 Expedition, Im amazed at how quite they are for an aggresive hybrid tread tire.

Yeah I’ve got ridge grapplers on mine. Little noisier than g2s but an aggressive tire for sure

I have ran many great Cooper tires, again buying the correct tire for the correct application makes a difference, but some of the very best tires Ive had have been Cooper or Mastercraft (a Cooper division).

I've had great experiences with Cooper tires and will be looking to put Discoverer AT3 (most likely LT) next summer.
