I agree the back was a turn off for me when I was shopping. I loved the front seats though. I ultimately decided on the Platinum Expy.

I love the back of the expedition. Wish I could put a expedition gate on a Navi.

you absolutely can, just not sure how the taillights would look not lining up to anything matching in size. should be a direct bolt on.

I haven't been in a Navi but how much more plush is a Navi over the Platinum? Just curious if the Navi is that much more special than the Platinum? While I don't really mind the look of the back of the Navi I like the back of the expedition better. The Navi kind of has an over the top fancy look all around, I'm not much of a fancy guy.

They are totally different animals. It's not like the step up from a Denali to an Escalade which (in my opinion...many may disagree) are not that different.

Lincoln has really outdone itself with the interiors. They are cushy and everything is covered in leather and aluminum, whereas the Expi dash is still modeled off a SuperDuty. The Platinum is far outdone by the Navi interior.

Honestly, you need to go see both to see what you think you will or won’t like is actually what you will or won’t like. We got the Navigator and we aren’t the ‘fancy’ type... whatever that is. Unless I’m going to a funeral I’m driving around in cargo shorts and a T-shirt and I don’t feel any more fancy because I got out of the Navigator. We prefer the interior in the Navigator because it doesn’t not look like a truck. It is more refined, we have the 30 way seats and they are worth the money IMHO. I don’t know what all is done differently in the Navigator over the Expedition Platinum so I can’t really give you a fair comparison other than the appearance on the interior. We went the Lincoln route because they come to wherever I am with a loaner and take my vehicle for maintenance or any service work. We had this added to the extended warranty and maintenance plan so I will never set foot in the dealership. The level of service seems to far surpass that of the Ford guys just based on what I’ve read on this forum. I’ve worked on all my previous automobiles and I don’t care to work on this one, my spare time is worth more than the cost of paying them but I realize that is not the case for everyone.

I’ll add that I’m a stay at home dad to two boys that are 2.5 and 3.5. We hike, camp, fish and do all the normal dirty stuff in this vehicle that we would in any other one...I even got the light color interior. We have takes several long road trips and it shines on them. It’s almost too quiet and comfortable because my kids and wife will fall asleep on the way to the grocery store far too often.

The biggest difference between the Navigator and the Platinum Expedition is the interior. Very different. I really like the Navigator interior. The optional 30 way seats are the most comfortable vehicle seats I have sat in. The HUD is very nice as well. You need to see both and compare.

The pluses of the Expedition is I like to see full instrumentation. Even though the Navigator is digital and could be easily customized, no full instrumentation is available on the Navigator. You also do not get an hour meter on the Navigator and do on the Expedition.
