What's the rearmost point to tap some 40A power? Always-hot or delayed accessory or something...

Preferably NOT the dang defrosters, because powering it THAT way would be a farce that would qualify to be called a shamanic ritual

Goal: hotwire power 3rd row in an SSV

Method: bypass modules and crap (because I'm not even sure which parts I got and where), fit a momentary (hold to activate) "seat controls on" switch to a relay harness in lieu of the usual safeguards and to protect the battery from discharge if something is accidentally leaned against the switches

Issue: seats listed as normally fused @ 40A... the most accessible power donor, the nearby trunk power port, alas a mere 20A.

...or is this a non-issue with a circuit that's only ever hot when not one but two separate switches are simultaneously engaged, and only for a couple seconds? Thx

PS or is there a way to tap defrosters circuit from the back that would NOT involve having to activate defrosters to get power to the seats???

And yeah, as you might have guessed, I indeed AM indeed trying to avoid a scenario where I'm running 10 AWG all the way to the battery

LOL .... That's where the circuit would get its power from anyway (if equipped)

Boxy thing above the ciggie lighter, also visible throught the vent-grating on the trim panel? Yup I got it

Is that all I need to hook up switches correctly? Or is that for the 40A workaround?

Yes there's a 12V Constant and a 12v ACC in that box. Hopefully the slot for the 3rd row seat RELAY is pre-wired.

Did your Switch come with pigtails when you bought Trunk Trim panel ?

See the above diagrams for more details.

Ok, so violet is hot when...what, exactly?

Are the SJB and BJB components prewired for 3rd row power already? If not, what would I do to trick the thing?

Or just go with plan A and tap 40A power switched by a relay with a hold-to-engage button. Does that boxy thing have good old non-smart 40A power on one of the wires??

12V is a non-issue... it's the 12v 40A part that's troubling.

Looking inside, the switches have connectors terminating in cut wires, some idgit cut the harness
