Very floaty and/or doesn’t track straight, requires a lot of correction.

Maybe it’s me, it seems like it doesn’t drive very straight or it’s floaty all over the place even on smooth roads? I got the alignment checked a week ago during my oil change and no problems or does the steering suck?

I have the CCD and it not sure it does anything or does it have to be in sport mode only?

Examine your suspension. I had a similar experience - two blown struts after 17.5K miles.

what's your air pressure? I don't have this issue at all, in fact it drives straighter than anything else I own. If air pressure is too high it could act like this.

Bad struts hasn't been an issue on the CCD, only on the regular struts

Put the CCD in Sport mode and it stiffens the suspension. Its granny's-Buick soft on normal mode, and mine sways all over the road on rough backroads in normal mode.
Sport is stiffer, but it tracks straighter in the rough roads. On smooth roads, mine drives perfect in any mode. It drives better than most any other vehicle I've driven....

Normal is better little more controlled rebound less bounce.
Sport stiffens up the ride

Having said that what did you drive prior to the Expedition? When I drive my SLK for a week then get into the Expedition it feels like I’m piloting a sky scraper thats swaying and bobbing all over the place.

my SUV was a 2018 Armada which I hate to admit handled really nice on corners and I liked the tighter steering, plus I have a BMW M5 too.

This expedition does bob all over the road on rough roads. Thats my biggest complaint about mine. It feels like a fricken bobble-head if there is heaves in the road.

Tracks straight and no noticable bob or anything here. I've got CCD as well. Zero complaints with the ride.

My alignment was off very early on and the drive was a bit more "active" than the 2013 Odyssey or my 2005 Tacoma with new frame and 5100s.

Ford service said "it's fine/within spec" when I took it to them for a warranty alignment (only have a year for that, so I learned). I took the service manager for a ride on a dead flat road and let go of the steering wheel to let it pull into oncoming traffic lanes...twice.

"in spec?" I asked

He sent me home after with a line of BS about "let me check with Ford engineering" and "a similar issue with a 2018" at the sister dealership service department.

2 days later I called for a status update. He had me bring it in again.

Different mechanic checked alignment, still in spec. Gave me a loaner and had someone else drive it to the other service center at the sister dealership...

Surprise! Alignment needed attention and was adjusted... What bothered me was the repeated statements that it was fine, when it clearly wasn't. Either the alignment machine was out of calibration or two mechanics didn't know what they were doing.

Attached alignment report for all you nerds. It says 18 expedition, so, hopefully this was actually mine and the 3rd mechanic at the sister service spot was on point.

Anyway, sorted that and rides like a dream now...

Yeah M5 to Expedition is probably similar to my SLK350 to Expedition transition. Seriously feels like I’m driving a 10 story tall building swaying and bobbing in a 7.0 earthquake lol.

My 06 Sequoia was for sure very different ride quality more restrictive rebound no bobbing effect and slightly harsher road imperfection fed to the interior. But that was on 17 inch wheels. The Sequoia on 22’s would have been teeth rattling. Vs the Expedition is no doubt more softly sprung with much less rebound dampening, though sport mode does really sharpen it up. In the last 6000 miles I’ve used Sport once for all of about 10 minutes lol.

When you have a 2dr sporty car its really hard to see Sport Mode in the Expedition as a sport mode. Ha ha Its more like Angry over caffeinated yoga mom green light dragster mode.

Most don’t actually have an alignment rack and those that do hate it because they really don’t have anyone person that owns the skill set to be really good at it.

Everywhere I have lived there was always the “go to guy” that was like a rack Yoda master. Find your local Yoda rack master stop fooling with the stupid dealer.
By the way my BayArea yoda guy is $65 for the typical job. The worst car ever is the SLK350. I had to find a race shop that knew how to do the SLK luckily they didn’t need shims or that would have added more cost. Full on weight bags, set for sporty cruise street use took them 2 hours to get all 4 corners sorted from the factory mess it had. Basically zero alignment from Mercedes.
