All forums have haters and people that have had bad luck.

They are sprinkled in but as someone who is brand agnostic and has spent time on many different brand forums I can tell you that most forums have WAY more ‘fan bois’ than ‘haters’.

I would agree, as I am a member of probably 30 different forums. But remember a Ford fanboy is a hater on someones Chevy page. My point is most of the post are about problems. That are problems to those having them. Most people would read a forum for any vehicle and be worried to buy it. That’s why we see these posts. BTW, A true fanboy would be posting how awesome his Expy is all the time. But he or she is to busy on a Escalade page saying how he had so many problems with his or hers. Hahahaaa.

I’ve had issues with:
  1. Mirror clicking - software update fixed
  2. Running board not deploying - currently in for the second time. We’ll see what they do this time. I think get bound up by dirt.
  3. Massaging seat issue - TSB done you change out a bad wire harness. Fixed
  4. Trailer connected/ disconnected-TSB for water in trailer harness. Fixed
  5. Cold start rattle - getting fixed now. I’ve had this on both my 2018 ecoboost.
Overall, we’ve been happy with our purchase. We figured there might be a few bugs as we bought a new model year. We also have a 120K mile bumper to bumper warranty. Finding a quality and competent dealer will be your biggest issue. We take ours to a Lincoln dealer versus the 3-closer Ford dealers.

Anyone having a little popping sound , usually hear it backing up but have heard it after backing up and then going forward. Not sure if brake related or transmission.

I like my 2018. It is the base model not the luxury model. I think less gizmos to go wrong is better compared to platinum package. I had warranty work done. 1) the cam phaser issue 2) 2018 AC before a certain date (Jan 2018 or something like that) problem with AC. The entire AC system, every part from all the lines, compressor, evaporators, etc. needs replaced due to a contamination issue. I don't know what the contaminant is, but it is something that can't be flushed out of the system. I suspect it might be metal flakes that weren't cleaned out of some machined components? 3) Recall for potential missing bolts for rear passenger seats. So with the Platinum series all that extra 4 wheel drive stuff, are you really going to take a 70K to 80K offroad? For me the all wheel drive on the base model works for me just fine on snow covered gravel roads.

We have a 2019, Special Edition package, 301A, 2nd row Buckets. Just over 12K miles on it and we love everything about it. Drives great. Long trips are a pleasure. So far problem free.

2018 XLT, The leather cover on the second row center seat has come undone from the bottom anchorS so that the leather hangs down in the front. I need to take it in because it never stays put when I reattached it.

2019 navigator with 12k on the truck

So the dealership picked up the truck this morning.

I went by the dealer about 3pm to see what is going on. I seen the truck in the bay. I asked the technician what he found.

He stated he was waiting for cold start tomorrow

I asked if I can show him the rattle.

I started the truck and reved it up. The tech heard the rattle and went right to the wastegate and disconnected the electrical connector and the rattle stopped.

For sure we know its the turbo.

Getting new turbos installed.

Hey man only $80K, they lasted only 12,000mi. That's terrible. Put the dam V8 back in the Nav and Expy. NOW!

rjdelp7, i agree with you. Last month the dealership replaced the cam phasers.

Honestly either i will buy a extended warranty or sell the truck. This ecojunker worries me, i dont want to get stuck with a large bill after the warranty is expired.
