There's an awful lot of bantering here about a $17 plug socket. With all the nonsense these plugs can give you, why wouldn't you buy the stupid thing? I've fished plugs out with needle nose pliers, had my socket repeatedly plucked off my extension and had to chase it with the same pliers... For the love of God, stop the nonsense and buy the tool. It will really make your life easier.

Mine was $10 with free shipping and it plucks them right out every time and I tried to explain that to that plum color guy be he kept insisting his piece of tubing trick was the way to go. I don't get what these people are thinking sometimes. :banghead: I do tape the socket to the extension though.

And maybe the guy who has a rough or non running vehicle who needs it to get to work in the morning, who doesn't have the option of waiting three days for the damned thing to come in.

I've had to improvise to fix stuff on the side of the road. Had to change many a u-joint in places other than my driveway or shop. Probably have had to put a new belt on somewhere on the side of the road 10, 11 times. Helped a guy put a new clutch in his GTO in the parking area of a state park once. He had the clutch, just hadn't had time to put it in yet. I guess when he took his girl to the park for a walk, the car decided it was time..LOL

Who in the hell cares what he uses to work on his car. It's his car and if his method works, what's it to you.
Jesus christ, it seems like you can find anything to piss 'n moan about. Have you any hobbies?

You obviously do....you replied to two of my comments in the past hour. Almost as if your hobby is being an ass online or something.

No, I have real hobbies. Ones that surpass ******** online about windshield wipers, spark plugs, and shift interlock solenoids. ;)

The fuel line on the plug trick is for threading the plug back in without cross threading it.....works on a lot of hard to get at engines including outboards....thread a plug in with a socket and you can't feel it. But hey it's your heads....

This thread is beat to death so I figure I can slip this in without ****** anyone off (unlikely).

Another great use for fuel line is as a replacement for when the Dremel tool drive coupling breaks (which happens frequently). Just cut off a 3/4" piece of fuel line and put that in there.
Costs nothing and you are back in b'ness. Takes a couple minutes to take it apart and put it back together. How many Dremel tools are just thrown away? OK back to the thread ...

Good idea. You can also drill out a worn out rubber spark plug insert and glue a piece of tubing in it. Then taper the end of the inside with a drill. They don't sell them so make one.

When I did mine on my 07 I ran a can of sea foam through my brake booster vacuum to help break up some carbon, used a small electric impact to break them loose. All 8 came out no issue

Are you sure they were all original?
