what transmissions did Ford put into the 2004 Expy police package with 4x4 and tow package?
I know the 4RW70 was used, any others?

Probably the only difference with the SSV may be a cooler in front of the radiator.

I believe the 4R75E came in 2005, but if you have a late 2004, you might check to see if you have it. You can probably decipher the tag somehow.

44E is Heavy Duty 4R100 tranny
44U is Reg Duty 4R70W

Are not directly interchangeable

thank you, thank you, thank you!!! you would not believe how difficult it has been to find this out.
Now, can you provide a source for this? does Ford publish it anywhere?
thanks for your time.

You'll have to hunt that info down.
4R100 uses different flywheel, ECM, TC + whatever else. You can check F150, Lightning forums, etc.
Diesel 4R100 is larger size altogether

I have looked everywhere I can think of. where did you find out? I'm not arguing about how the 4R100 is built, I believe you. I just want to know the source for your assertion that 44E code means the 4R100 trans. I have absolutely been unable to find that out. I'm hoping to learn something here that I obviously don't know.

AHA!!!
got it.
the 44E = the 4R70 trans. NOT the 4R100.
so there.

ford part number for the 44E is 4L1Z7000DARM, AutoZone SKU is 710922.

on a side note, nothing burns my ass more than the damn ******** artists on these web sites. stop talking out of your ass, people. if you don't know, please don't pretend you know.
the site specifically exists to help people with information on our trucks, making shit up does not help. it's not like you're going to get a medal.

damn!
