Not mine anymore…my friend picked it up last Wednesday. Over the previous weekend I swapped in new VCT solenoids and topped off all the fluids. She ran good. Here it is in his shop touching up all the paint, I’m sure those bubbles will be back haha1BE12919-1FF1-42E1-AA31-05BB8F90CC18.jpeg

I actually owned this one since 2019 it would have been 4 years in May. It has sat for a long time but a little jump and she started right up.

Short run. I'm coming up on 8 years w/ mine. I usually get about 10 years out of my vehicles, but I don't think this one is going to make it.

Well I bought it with something like 150k on it, that was well worn in all ready. I just bought my first brand new vehicle a month ago, this one I’d like to keep to 200k. Got a 2023 F-150 with the 5.0L V8/10R80, it’s a total beast with 400 horsepower/410 lb ft of torque. I waited because the 17-20 3.5 EcoBoosts were eating camphasers and the 18-20 5.0s were drinking oil like it was going out of style. Ford really refined both engines for the 14th gen adding power and fixing all the bugs. Averaging 18.1 MPG combined, breaks 22 MPG quite frequently on the highway.

Replaced back up and fog lights with LED. Want to make headlights brighter, but the LED retro headlight bulbs I see so far, are too bright according to internet info. I don't appreciate being blinded by other's LED at night, so I will not do the same. Might have to go with Sylvania XtraVision or better(?).

You could retrofit a projector, but it's a lot of work.

Sylvania SilverStar Ultra or Osram NightBreaker are great for improving your halogens. My 2007 Expedition output great light with those bulbs.

Just detailed the paint in time for an awesome storm to come through the next day. It will be a little chilly, but I’ll wash it in the morning. Here’s a shot of it after washing with Chemical Guys Clean Slate to strip all previous coatings. Then I clayed it. Rinsed and dried. Then Chemical Guys P4. Followed that up with some Griots Garage Wax and Sealant all-in-one. I only use CG’s products now. However, I have a few other products I don’t want to throw away. The Griots complimented the CG’s just fine.

Old post so I apologize for digging it up. Did you ever get the rear tail light bar installed? How did you mount it? Like it?

Looks like you have a 3rd gen? For my backup lights I mounted square tube (1" I think?) via the existing holes and then mounted the backup lights to the square tube. You could do the same with a light bar. Just use square tube that spans the space between both sets of existing holes and then mount the light bar to that. I will advise to see if you can find galvanized square tube though. I used bare steel and painted it with an outdoor paint, but it's just in a spot that gets a lot of abuse from salt, road debris, etc. and it rotted out within a few years.

'03 Expedition. Removed the the wiper cowling and replaced some washer hose and a broken "Y" connector that was shooting washer fluid straight up instead of on to the windshield. Repainted the wiper arms matte black while I had them off.

Changed the front passenger door jamb sensor on my '11. Sway bar links this weekend if I feel motivated enough. Just shy of 220k miles.

Changed out the entire steering column due to bearing failure in the old one. Once you start seeing little BB's on the floormat and your steering starts binding or slop in the shaft, it's time. The second gens and newer aren't really owner rebuildable, so you have to go hunting for one in good condition to use. Fortunately there's many available from salvage yards. This task is probably not for the novice or faint of heart, LOL . Now all back together and good as new. 280k miles.

Lower double row heavy duty support bearing blown out .... lot of stress on this bearing due to steering shaft geometry ....

Should look like this ....

Steering wheel end. Upper support bearing intact but loose.... unlike earlier generations, not rebuildable....
