Does anyone make a locking gas cap for a 2023 expedition platinum? I am a loss finding one.

I didn't think you can put a screw type cap in there because all Fords have capless fueling. Are you afraid someone might steal fuel or that someone might put something in your tank?

Yes, it does not have a cap. It is interesting that the “door” over the filler can be opened with the vehicle locked. I just went out and tried it.

Hell, even my 011 has the screw-less filler and yes, the door can be opened at any time, locked or otherwise....

OTOH, I'm not really worried about anyone stealing my gas or putting something in my tank, since I live & work in fairly calm, low-crime areas (my house), and my property is wired for security (motion, sound & weight sensors & video recording) 24/7/365 :D

Here's a test. Find a hose that you think would be suitable for siphoning gasoline from your tank. Stick it down your filler pipe to see if goes in far enough to touch the fuel in your tank. Do this at your own risk because who knows what might be in the filler pipe that might be damaged by a siphon hose.

I'm told that the baffling in these capless filler pipes is designed to prevent siphoning. Maybe it's true. Maybe I've been lead astray.

bb37 is correct. There is a screen that prevents you from siphoning.

In my 2019 wiring diagram, it shows the China version has an electric lock on the gas door. If someone has a VIN number from China, you may be able to find it.

I don’t remember what made me say China, but i referenced it in a similar thread back in 2020.

If somebody wants to be the first to try it, this part says it fits our expeditions. it is called the Fuel Filler Door Lock Solenoid. https://www.oemfordpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/ford-fuel-filler-door-lock-actuator-ft4z6328610a

Below shows where it should be wired in.
