My 2017 Platinum is building up ice in the door jambs. This just started happening this year. The ice is thick enough I’m afraid it’s going to damage the door when opening it. Any ideas on what is causing this, and how to prevent it?

Winter 5 and still having this issue. Is no else experiencing this???Thanks everyone!
1. I took the plugs out of the doors a long time ago because they e were holding water. This doesn’t help with ice in the door jambs though.
2. I’ve sprayed silicone (didn’t help) and WD-40 in the jambs…still got ice this morning.
3. Will try parking on an incline and see if that helps.
Still can’t figure why this just started happening after 4 years! Parking in the same spot here in CO for the past 3 winters.
Season number 6…happening again. Have tried more silicone, more WD-40, car wax…nothing seems to help. Can’t see any way to block water from entering the jams. Still looking for solution!Winter 5 and still having this issue. Is no else experiencing this???
It’s not on the rubber gaskets…it’s in the door jambI used some RV weatherstrip conditioner to keep the doors from freezing shut. Reply every fall. Works well thus far.

Now we’re starting our 5th winter here, and still having this issue. Hard to believe no one else is experiencing this, nor that no-one has a solution. So far my solution is go out every morning and knock the ice out with a small scraper.Thanks. I can see where the water is coming from…what I don’t understand is what’s causing it to freeze and build up in the door jamb. This is our 4th winter here in CO and first time this to ever happen. I don’t see any parts missing, damaged, etc, so nothing changed as far as can tell.

It is a problem because it deflects the door and hinges when I open it.If you’re able to open the door, why are you trying to knock out the ice in the jamb? I’m not sure I understand why you think the ice inside the jamb (near the door hinge area?) is a problem?
Yes, i am seeing damage. The ice causes the sheet metal to flex, cracks the paint, and this year starting to see some rust. 7th season now, and Still no solution to keep this from happening!I have a 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4, purchased new and live in the Midwest.
Although it is garaged when not being used, ice has formed in the vehicle doorjambs such as you have pictured. The ice has never caused damage.
If you look at the larger weatherstrip “bulbs” above the door check strap, you will see Ford designed the water runoff to flow into the door jamb and to the ground.
Have you ever had damage caused by the ice that has formed?
I’m not sure what solution you are seeking, but you will probably have to live with this design issue.
