2013 XLT two days ago I was driving around town, all was fine. I stopped to drop wife off at a store and I sat in the car engine running, radio on. Then made some phone calls via Synch (one) . Played with heater/AC controls (I have a bad mode blend door in back, clicking). Turned car off for a while. Then on starting up and backing out I get all the ABS, Brake , Advance Track, and ESC lights and the words SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK and CHECK BRAKES come onto the message center. Stopping and starting I got it to clear and reappear a few times. No Codes, No pending codes, no Freezed frames. I am baffled. I did go around and check tires and all of them were very low, around 27 versus 35 PSI. I verified with two pressure gauges. It has been very cold.. Could low tire pressure on all four wheels cause this? By the way, I only assume I have TPMS because I never saw it light up before. I have had the vehicle 13 months and barely 3000 miles.

If I were here, you would know it !
A) Every car produced after 2007 in the US (<10K lbs gvw) were required to have TPMS as standard factory-installed equipment, so your 2013 has it, unless it was somehow removed & a bypass of the warning system was installed by a 3rd party (which would be illegal AFAIK)...

B) Therefore, assuming that your TPMS system is functioning correctly, if any or all of the 4 tires were low, the warning lights will come on to let you know...HOWEVER, the sensor(s) can (and will) fail at any time, but that would also throw up a warning light on the dash....

C) "the ABS, Brake, Advance Track, and ESC lights and the words SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK and CHECK BRAKES come onto the message center" warnings are usually associated with bad wheel bearings/hubs, very worn brake pads, malfunctioning calipers and/or master cylinder, and also perhaps leaking brake fluid lines....

In other words, an immediate investigation is definitely warranted, either by you or a qualified mechanic to determine & correct the actual issue(s).... good luck :)

It has a new dealer installed battery, but I will check to see maybe a terminal is loose or corroded. To be safe I am also going to check for loose connectors under the dash and the ABS module.

Bad ABS sensor would be my guess. Happened on my old 2009 Expedition.

Well so far so good. Aired up tires and drove around town and no red/orange lights or messages. Tomorrow I make an 80 mile trip and bring back a 740 LB load. Keeping fingers crossed that maybe it was a major TPMS alert causing ABS/brake system alert causing Advancetrac warning. Could that be a thing? The AI agrees! I fed AI the options and it could get there, maybe? If not I will be checking every plug I can see. Should do that anyway....

i have a 2014 Limited. I had to replace my front brakes and rotors as they wore down and gouged the rotor. Never had a warning light as mentioned above. Never heard any scraping or puling to one side. I have had the car for 5 years and have replaced the front pads twice now and may need to do a third time soon. Even replace front hoses as well. I do my own work and my mechanic has not found anything wrong

As it turns out, fixing the tire pressure had no effect as the light show came on again on my recent 80 mile round trip. I will be checking all the connectors I can reach to see if one is loose. Oddly it seems if I drive without any warning lights, and then turn of then on, the engine they come on until the next cycle. So it could be battery voltage, so I will be monitoring that closely.

Did you have any problems with the brake hoses choking off and overheating the brakes?

I have the same issue with 2019 expy AND 2024 F550. Bad wire harness to back wheels. I relocated the wire harness to prevent the harness from being damaged by the dump body. Champion Ford in Edinboro, PA voided my warranty because I "Bent" the wire harness.. They said they had never heard of the issue before.. There are several ford service memos on the issues. One of them say the harness rubs not far from the end by the rear wheel. Prevents the cuise control from working in the expy.. The F550. Not only cruise but also the 4wd.

I have been driving the highway past few days. No warning lights. The OBDII shows "Ready". I have noticed the left front tire runs about 15 degrees F higher than right It seems everything is hotter in that corner. But comparisons of the hub, rotor and caliper are about same right to left. I will get it to my mechanic and have him try to pick up all the diagnostics and get it up on the lift to check the exposed wiring hoses etc,

That is just crazy. If it rubs it is not racing. I will have to slide under and look for that one. I was more concerned with rodents eating wires, though I have three cats on 24/7/365 rodent control in the driveway. Maybe they slouch off.

Well; the service brakes/advancetrack etc.. light show is back. I have been distracted with medical issues and have not checked the wiring as planned. I did read the schematics and have a good idea where all the connectors are located, so will open them up and De-Oxit all the connections. I did go to my local auto parts store and asked them for a free scan. The scan tool is apparently very limited according to the clerk and showed only a B1342 code for the ABS module. Nothing more. This could be a bad module or there could be a deeper code. Can anyone advise if a deeper scan with better tool is in order? Maybe I have a sensor issue? I don't want to throw the parts cannon at this. Ideas? Google has not been too helpful. Again a 2013 XLD RWD 5.4L 3V. 120K miles.

could be a wheel speed sensor too. In order to be smarter than the parts cannon, you need a decent OBDII scan tool, in order to see things and make a proper diag.
