Best headlight prices?

Hey guys, just got my 2018 Expedition Limited about a month ago and I think I need a new headlight. The LED light bar that wraps around the housing has turned purple. I priced a replacement headlight assembly at the dealership and they want $1800!
Does anyone know a better, cheaper place to get a headlight?

ebay, junk yard, facebook marketplace part out. Unfortunately the aftermarket isn't really there for headlight housings like there are for the F series trucks.

For factory, do a Google search. They run between $800 and $1000. After market are cheaper, but risk the normal issues.

Have you checked the usual online sellers, like Amazon, Rock Auto, FordPartsGiant, PartsGeek, Ford.OEMPartsOnline etc ?

But regardless of the seller, those type of headlights are NOT cheap by any means, as well as being a major PITA to replace unless you have the proper skills and tools....

To wit, I replaced both of the headlight assemblies, and upgraded the bulbs to LED's too, in about 15 minutes using only a cordless screwdriver & a pair of pliers, all from da 'Zon for just under $300..

I would strongly urge you to avoid fleecebay, fakebook, and/or any other social media marketplaces, as they are massively polluted with scammers galore, most of which will involve payment & shipping verification issues, chargeback schemes, delivery photo fake-outs of boxes that contain something other than what you bought, etc

Hey everyone. Has any body replaced the ballasts on the headlight assembly of the 4th generation expeditions? I have the passenger side LED strip that is not fully working anymore. I have noticed this issue from other owners of the 4th generation and was told it's most likely the ballast...

I’ve replaced / upgraded headlights on many vehicles over the past 30 years. All aftermarket lights in the past 10 years have failed prematurely.

OEM is your best solution and value.

Well, my aftermarket replacements are about 4.5 years old, neveranottaproblemo, but I know the newer, all electronic ones don't last as long as the older, simpler ones

ballasts are used in conjunction with HID lights. LEDs may have an integrated current regulator but its not a separate component.

you want expensive, you should check out the "ILS" (Intelligent Lighting System) headlights for a 2014-2016 Mercedes E class. the LED projectors within the headlights are motorized so they track the curvature of the road left/right as well as up/down. Last I looked a few years ago, they were around $2400 each. They are fabulous lights but ridiculously expensive.

That was 10 years ago. You need to double that these days.
