Will the Stealership know??

I started messing around with forscan on my 2021 Platinum Max. Not many options that actually work. It’s fine I can what for the new release.

My question is when I’ll have to take it in to the stealership for repairs ( i only have 1k miles) will they know I messed with the settings?? I can’t seem to find the answer on the inter web.

Yes, Ford corporate can already see you made changes to the modules if they want. If you have FordPass turned on that is. You can't access the PCM, or the TCM, so you can only do but so much. The 2021 and 2020 are the same module setup. You should be able to do plenty, you just might need to contact FORSCAN support for a BETA link. If you are using a spreadsheet, stop. Use the drop down options in FORSCAN.

In order to do remote start and lock with the App, Fordpass is on. That requires access to modules. I have NEVER heard of Ford EVER giving anybody a hard time for FORSCAN changes as long as you don't disable stuff actually needed by the vehicle...Like BMS(Battery Management System mentioned in other threads). You won't have any issues.

You don't want to use your phone to start/lock/monitor the SUV? it is one of the best features Ford gives owners for free.

The dealer scan whenever you have it in for any service it will show up.

I asked my dealer if the auto eliminator would void the warranty, and they said that the auto start-stop is connected to about 40 different systems, so if any of those 40 systems fail under warranty and they can possibly link the failue to the eliminator, they will, and the claim will be denied. That's why I have not installed the Eliminator yet.

And make NO mistake, they WILL find a way (or a lame excuse) to link them together & they WILL deny any & all warranty claims from that point forward for anything even remotely related...

My neighbor tried to do some similar stuff in FORSCAN, and messed something up (cause he didn't know what the hell he was doing), then tried to get the stealership to fix his mistakes, as well as the other issues he is having with his 24 Max.....

The tech looked at it for about 5 mins, then came out & handed him the keys & a $250 bill for the diagnostics, and said: "see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya, and don't ever come back here"

So he parked it for a few weeks, then took it to another stealership out of state, who essentially told him the same thing.

Now he is stuck with a $65K brick that runs like crap (if at all), suks gas like an 10 ton elephant, throws a bunch of codes, randomly sputters, spits, and dies after about ~10-15 miles, requiring a tow back to his house..

My 2019 has been back for various firmware and software updates. I have made many FORScan mods, but not the auto start/stop mod, as it messes with the BMS. I have also installed the latest updated maps from Cyan Labs. I have never had an issue where the tech told me anything about the updates. They recently performed the latest PCM software update, because of a recall. Nothing was affected.

You can tell your friend he can load the latest FORScan and reload the factory settings, which will more than likely fix his mistakes, unless his symptoms are caused by something else.
When using FORScan, it is always a good idea to perform a backup of the most recent settings. This way when one fails and creates a malfunction, they can always revert back to the saved setup.

Good to know. Pretty much the same as you. Many FORScan mods, not the BMS (using S/S Eliminator), upgraded 3.4 via CL.
