New Expedition owner, just bought a used 2024 Limited 4WD w 16k miles. I made the mistake of buying it online without test driving it. Love everything about it, except a low grinding noise and vibration. I thought it was tire noise but I just replaced all four tires and that didn’t help.

I can feel a slight vibration in the accelerator that gets worse with speed. At 60+ mph it’s very noticeable and audible in the vehicle. It also gets much worse and feels like a grinding noise if I turn the wheel even slightly to the right, but somewhat goes away if I turn to the left.

Internet and ChatGPT has me thinking some sort of wheel bearing issue. Curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Return the vehicle to a Ford dealer for diagnosis and repair under the new-car warranty.

In sure agree 100% here w/ 99WhiteC5Coupe! If it is still under Ford warranty (as it should be), why spend any money fixing it yourself? I am also glad to hear that you like your 2024 Expy Limited. We have a 2024 Expy Limited MAX and just love it! We bought it brand new and sold our 2012 Expy Limited EL w/ 86K miles on it. Our 2024 rides noticeably rougher (compared to our 2012) but it still has the Perrelli 22's on it. Our 2012 had Perrelli's, when new, and once we went to Michelin's, it was like a different car totally! Rode much more smoothly and handled twice as good! Once the 2024 Perrelli's get to 50% tread, off they come and on go Michelin's.

I don't know about you but, I am so pleased we were able to find a "loaded 2024 Limited MAX" which still has the knob & button A/C controls and radio controls vs the totally 'touch-screen' on the 2024 Platinum's and ALL 2025's & 2026's Expys.

Without driving in your car and hearing what it sounds like, it's super difficult to know what is going wrong? If you don't trust the Ford Dealers (much like I don't either), you may want to take it to a private shop, that you trust, and have them do a diagnosis for you. If it's minor, have them just fix it. If it's expensive, take it back to your Ford Dealer and tell them what is wrong and have the dealer fix it under warranty. But, this is all only my own opinion from being a 50 year Ford owner/driver, for whatever that may be worth. Best of luck and enjoy your great Expy. Lance

Thanks everyone. Dropped it off at the dealership yesterday, so we’ll see what they say. Was just curious if this is a common issue or if anyone else had experienced a similar problem. Definitely not trying to fix it myself!

That's sure a great decision that you made, I think, NWAhog. Once diagnosed and fixed by Ford, please give us all an update of what the exact problem that they found was. Hoping it is something simple (like a wheel bearing going south) and not some major component failure on your 2024 Expy.

Being as we have a 2024 Expy, as well, this update could save me possible problems in the future thus, I would personally love to know. Thanks, Lance

My early build 2023 had the passenger front wheel bearings go out and replaced by the dealership around 25K Miles. Was told by the service writer that it isn’t uncommon.

Wow RacerBX1 ! That is actually pretty bazar! So much for Ford's quality Control, huh? On our 2012 Expy EL with 86K, we never had wheel bearing problems, and those hubs were 'sealed' so that they couldn't be taken apart and greased, either. Thanks for the heads up, Lance.
