ford says the iec valve needs replacing on my rig as well as a complete fuel system cleaning. they want $500 for this. does this sound right?

ford also says my pcm went out as well. this was covered under warranty. anyone else have a pcm go out at 42K+.

I think you mean the IAC valve (Idle Air Control) It senses the amount of air going through the intake manifold, turns the pressure into an electrical reading and sends it to the ECM to control the engine idle speed. If the valve goes bad, the idle will usually surge up and down, up and down, up and down. $500 is a little high for the cleaning and valve but not way out of line. A PCM can go bad at any time. It's like your home computor, you just never know. Hope this helps.

If your engine starts and runs but will not idle, you have a bad IAC valve.
