Another engine noise post, sorry guys

Man I hope so. I heard a guy on here say something about putting a vacuum cleaner hose in the tail pipe, making sure its sealed then turn it on and you'll hear it whistle at the leak. Ever try that?

Another engine noise post, sorry guys

So I have a knock of some kind. Oil pressure good. It follows RPM. It sat for 6 years before me. Replaced fuel pump, cleaned tank rotten gas. Tried using regular stethoscope, didn't help. Any thoughts or experience helpful. Thank you. Link to video https://youtube.com/shorts/Z0620DvM9Lw

    Steering wheel upside down

I am at that point now. Took it in for alignment and was qouted $240. Said they have to re-stab the steering box. I have been trying to look at YouTube videos to see the shaft where it enters the box. To see if I cant disconnect it there. Logic tells me that is the only way to fix this. I have...

Help!!! 98 Making a horrific noise & keeps dying!

I am far from as smart as some fellas here. I also can't speak for a certainty. But it is not likely you would lose any significant amount of oil unless you have leaks. As for it being a rod or the engine period, that is more likely. If you want to verify if the lube shop told you the truth just...

    Steering wheel upside down

Update: first thank you to all who chimed in. This is what I have found so far. Everything I can see is pretty solid. No broken parts or worn bushings. The wheel turns the same amount of times side to side with the center being wheel upside down. I tried the string alignment on the toe. No...

    Steering wheel upside down

Yes thats me. I bought it for a grand knowing it needed a fuel pump. Sat for 5 years. I haven't had it on the road at speed because its too loud without the cats. I live in the middle of the city. The steering was very slushy and touchy driving around the parking lot so I know she needs...

    Freaking Catalytic Converters stolen!!

Thank you to everybody who responded. I have decided to go straight pipe back to the muffler, forgoing cats for now. Will register in state nearby that does not require emissions. To answer a few questions that have popped up in this thread: Isn't insured, yes its a bad neighborhood, trying to...

    Steering wheel upside down

I have been under it and from what I can see (been sitting for years, alot of webs and oil/dirt coating from leak) it all looks pretty sound. I am planning on doing a string and ruler alignment because the toe is definitely out of whack but wanted to address upside down wheel first. Do you think...

    Steering wheel upside down

Hello anyone reading. I have a 97 EB 4x4 5.4L recently bought. The steering wheel is upside down. What is the easiest way to rectify this? Can I remove linkage to accomplish or do I have to remove the wheel? I do not have a gear puller. I thank you in advance for your help.

    Freaking Catalytic Converters stolen!!

Don't know if this is the right place for this post so please forgive if not. While re installing the fuel tank after cleaning it and installing new pump I just happened to notice something different. Both cats cut off with a Sawzall. Gone overnight. Man this is a tough blow. The funny thing...

Anyone seen this or heard of it before?

Pulled the tank, removed the pump. It was all corroded with a yellow and green sort of grainy or crystal like appearance. The rubber boot at the bottom is half okay and half melting and becoming sticky goo. Never seen this with rotten fuel. Some sort of chemical reaction? Thoughts please.

Just getting that figured. It was the fuel pump. Have the tank out and am rehabbing it today.
