    I put mine on a battery tender about once per month. Greatly increases battery life. I got 8 years out of my Genesis battery doing that. My Navigator battery is 5 years old and still going strong.

    There is also a module you can plug into the OBD2 port to do the same thing. I had a friend with an F150 that had the same sissue. He plugs in the modfule when he wants it to be dark.

    I would skip the tailgate kick to open. It opened accidentally too many times and then did not work properly most of the time when i kicked. I disconnected the antenna and haven't had an issue since. Genesis open when you are in the proximity of the back of the vehicle works far better.
