    2018 ford expy

I was referring to the upcoming model. Only 1500s are available at the moment. The Suburban 2500 is returning for 2016 (model year) for fleet only: See link 2016 Chevrolet Suburban HD will be 3/4 Ton; Fleet Only The next Expedition will adopt the new towing standards set forth by the SAE...

    2018 ford expy

That's correct, however the model year is subject to change. It depends on the release date (beginning or end of year) and if Ford decides to market the Uxxx as a "early" 2018 model. Expect it to bow as either a 2017 (if released late 2016) or 2018 (if released early 2017) model.

    2018 ford expy

A three-quarter ton Expedition is not on the books. It should also be noted that GM's Chevrolet/GMC brands have opted to "discontinue sale" on their Suburban 2500 and Yukon XL 2500 to consumers, for the foreseeable future. They have been limited to fleet and government sales only. To buy them...

I think all Expedition years are the same

Those who are happy with the interior design and quality of the new 2015 F-150 will like the 2017 Expedition’s interior. A new high-quality interior is coming, that’s a given. Packaging will be slightly different, more space saving, but as for the middle row, being low, that’s mainly due to...

I think all Expedition years are the same

Are you asking about the new upcoming fourth generation Expedition? Only a few features and design specifications are known to be fact, other features that are expected to be included on the next Expedition are speculated, due to relevance to the program and their release along the same time...

I think all Expedition years are the same

At this point, there is very little the current Expedition body shares with the older Expedition bodies. While they still have some appearance similarities, less than about 5 percent is carried over. There is virtually nothing on the vehicle that has not had an engineer rework performed on...

I think all Expedition years are the same

Maybe. I’m sure its possible. But remember the UN93 door handles lift-up to unlatch, while the U222 and U324 door handles pull-out to unlatch. So the latch linkage is slightly different. Just swapping the handles might not work; you may have to swap the mechanical linkage too.

I think all Expedition years are the same

Technically they are not the same, due to the amount of differences. The platforms (chassis & suspension) are not the same for the three different generations. The first generation Expedition (UN93) used the original U platform. The second generation Expedition (U222) used a all-new...

Ford Expedition Traction Control ON in 4L

I know this is a old thread, but want to help clear up for future readers. The electronic traction control system (TCS) remains on and active in 4L (4 Low) mode. Only the engine management part of TCS is shut off. AdvanceTrac electronic stability control (ESC) and roll stability control (RSC)...

    Official: Ford retuning EcoBoost

The 10-speed 10R80 manumatic may not arrive until the all-new fourth generation aluminium Expedition shows up for 2017 (2018 model year). It depends on if Ford wants to save that technology for the new aluminium Expedition. Ford is doing the lead engineering on the 10-speed transmission, which...

    Official: Ford retuning EcoBoost

Its more for towing, but it will have an affect. Typically payload is calculated with an empty bed (or in the case of the Expedition – an empty cargo bay) with a 150 lb driver (no other passengers). The Expedition’s current payload rating is around 1,700 lbs (0.85 tons). It may drop or it may...

    Do I have ESC?

AdvanceTrac electronic stability control (ESC) was first introduced in 2002 for the 2003 Expedition (U222) as a paid option. I think it was around $700 USD. As it was purely an option, and not standard, not all second-generation Expedition’s will have it. In 2005, AdvanceTrac ESC gained a...

    Official: Ford retuning EcoBoost

Although I’m not privy to this particular information, (this is just speculation on my part…) I would wager that there is an ulterior reason for the retuning, which has to do with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Ford will start using the SAE J2807 towing methods for its light trucks...

    Official: Ford retuning EcoBoost

Most of you know already the facelifted third-generation Expedition is getting the 3.5 EcoBoost V-6 for 2015, and the power ratings were "around" 370 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Ford has been fine-tuning and re-tweaking the engine for the Expedition and Navigator and has now released...

Hidden or cool features about our Expeditions

A factoid for newer Expeditions. All Expeditions from 2007-onward have SoundScreen windshields from Carlite. SoundScreen windshields use "acoustic glass" for sound deadening, meaning it helps absorb and deflect unwanted outside noise before it gets a chance to enter the cabin where the...
