Will 33 inch tires & 0 offset wheel fit on 2017 Expedition EL Limited with no rubbing ?

Will 275/60R20 (33 inch) tires on 0 mm offset rims fit on our stock suspension 2017 Expedition EL Limited with a stock 275/55R20 tire size (31.9”) and a stock +44 mm offset ? Tire size is only 1 inch larger in diameter, but the offset difference also moves the wheel out almost 2 inches from...

    Retracting Door Step Replacement Cost

Just installed Amp Research‘s aftermarket electric retractable steps myself on my 2021 F250 Tremor. They come as a complete kit with both steps and everything you need to install these yourself. I am a believer in stock equipment being of superior quality most of the time, but that is not the...

Significant Repair - Only 28,000 miles - Rear Differential

Been noticing a slight growl in the rear end of our 2017 Expedition EL going around corners … so I took it in to the local Ford dealer since it’s still under the factory powertrain warranty (currently only has 28,*** miles on it). They said the rear axle limited slip clutch plate needs replaced...

    Towing ?

One common mistake people make is looking at the door jam sticker regarding tire pressure vs verifying the actual pressure on the side wall of the tire. Many times the previous owner replaces the factory “P” (passenger) load rated tires (4-ply) with an increased ply rating for towing, which...

Is rotational play (excessive backlash) normal between wheel and cv axle

I would say the jacked up tire rotates a couple inches forward and the same amount backward before the cv joint engages and the axle starts turning (with the opposite tire still on the ground).

Is rotational play (excessive backlash) normal between wheel and cv axle

There is a loud clunk when we come off the rolled curb at the end of our driveway backing out of the garage onto the street. This loud clunk is what made me start looking at the IWE. I started by replacing the sway bar end links myself because those are know to fail and are easy to replace...

Is rotational play (excessive backlash) normal between wheel and cv axle

So are you eluding to the fact that the vacuum is not being applied to the IWE when the car is not running ? If so, how does that explain the rotational play (backlash) in the IWE ? Only have my IFS Chevy Duramax to compare to my wife’s Expedition … and my Chevy does not have this excessive...

Is rotational play (excessive backlash) normal between wheel and cv axle

I can rotate my front wheels both directions quite a bit before the CV and front axle starts turning. Weird part … same for both front wheels. Is this excessive play / backlash normal ? It appears to be somewhere within the wheel hub. Will try to post a link to my Dropbox where you can watch...

    BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 - 275/55R20 - Installed Today

Sorry for the delayed response … been traveling for work & vacation so minimal internet time. BFGoodrich All-Terrains in a D ply rating have been working well on my wife’s 2017 EL Limited. Trick is to rotate them every 3,000 miles since they have are an open shoulder tire with a soft rubber...

Updating your sway bar, is it needed if you have HD tow package?

I replaced both. The upgraded front sway bar made the most difference in daily driving, and it significantly reduced body roll in corners and thru bumps. The upgraded rear sway bar made the biggest difference towing going into corners, especially downhill corners on tight mountain passes...

Updating your sway bar, is it needed if you have HD tow package?

The right sway bar on your tow vehicle will improve the drivability and traction, help with better cornering and less body roll. When you have your pride and joy travel trailer in tow behind you, better performance from your tow vehicle can be the difference in making it to the campsite or not.

Updating your sway bar, is it needed if you have HD tow package?

It does ride a little rougher when hitting bumps at an angle. Straight-on bumps there is no difference. But it was definitely worth the trade off.
