I missed the exit because they were both exits were next to each other and the Nav didn't give me an exit # or go on Route 80 E or W, just told me to take Route 80. Maybe a setting I need to turn on.
Yes I know that, but Google Maps is much less cluttered. And Waze doesn't give you accurate arrival times on longer trips.
How is the traffic notification on the built in? Does it do well to change to a new route when there is bad traffic or do you have to manually do that. With Navigation I never use it to find my way I usually use it to make sure I don’t get stuck in a wreck on the highway.

Used to use Waze. Now I use Apple Maps. It is much better now. It lets you know what lane to be in and give plenty of heads up before exits or turns. I've been pleased with it that past 1+ years that I have been using it.
When towing my camper, I use RV Life for longer new routes. I have only had one issue with it when in Virginia Beach. Other than that it has not let me down.

That's another reason I like Google Maps over Waze. Hoping Google implements all the Waze reporting features into Maps soon.

I bought the updated maps USB stick but I can't get sync to update from 3.0 to 3.4 in my '19 max. I've only tried via wifi. I know it can be downloaded on a stick also. I like the onboard navigation but would like it updated.
MtM, This thread is about the Sync4 Equipped vehicles(21+ F150, and 22+ Expeditions). There are several threads on here about Sync 3 Updates if you search. There was no need to pay as there are free options to get updates to Sync 3 including the Map Data.
Update all versions of Ford Sync 3 to the latest Sync 3.4

Cyanlabs and their Sync3 Updater is the tool you need to download and use to get the updates you need.

I've had my Timberline for awhile and done quite a few road trips, just recently from Tampa Bay Florida to Tennessee. I have used CarPlay and Apple Maps from day one and I love it in the Expedition. That being said, I haven't used the Ford navigation at all and while I used Google Maps in previous vehicles and it worked ok, I just seem to like the Apple Maps better. Plus it syncs up with my watch so if I'm not paying attention to a upcoming turn my watch "taps" my wrist to let me know.

I have a 22 Expedition Platinum Max sync 4a and I’ve used the built-in nav, Apple Maps, Google maps, and waze. My favorite is Google maps because of the satellite view, but I also like Apple Maps because it sync’s with my Apple Watch which will vibrate, show the distance & direction of the next turn, and clicks the closer you get to the turn. The built-in nav includes a screen between the speedometer and the rpm screens, waze is to plain. Each map app has their own pros and cons. You need to check the settings for each of the apps and select if you want the fastest or shortest route.
