We have a 2024 expedition max. Bought 2 weeks ago. DRL won’t come on. Headlights on all the time. All configurations done in info screens. Anybody else having a problem or know the trick to making drl work?

On Expedition models with the configurable DRL feature - the transmission must be moved out of “park” before the DRL’s will activate (if you have previously activated the DRL feature in the lighting section of the vehicle settings).
If they still are not working - I would suggest returning to your dealer service department or salesperson.

Thanks. Yeah the drl won’t come on when tranny out of park. The drl feature is on in the lighting section of settings. Next move is bring back to dealer for service. Wondering if day/night sensor on dash is functioning properly. Cuz headlights are on all the time which doesn’t seem right. ?? Thanks again.

just to have my (2019) DRL on,,, I have to have thr headlight knob set on "auto" and not in park. Sure the 24's might be diff?

Forget the "screens" and check the switches.
DRLs are extinguished when the headlights are On and are functioning as designed.
The headlights are NOT assuming the headlight switch is set to Off or Auto.

Which trim do you have? As I know on XLT, there is no DRL if you don’t have the right package. It means no lights on the strip, they are just plastic.

But the headlights shouldn't be on 100%.

We’re now pretty sure this truck doesn't have the option package that includes the drl feature. We just thought that an xlt max would have drl as a standard feature. Thanks for all your help and replies folks.

You figured out why the headlights are On all the time? That ain't right.
You may be able to turn DRLs On with Forscom. (sic?)
