Usually how long does the vehicle take to build?

A little history: 3/11/24 "in production" means scheduled. Normally vehicles hit the "National Blend" schedule 1 week before the week that they are produced. Which means barring shortages, outages, holidays, etc. A painted expedition max body (in this case) would drop from trim selectivity onto the trim system sometime the week of 3/18. Depending on shift patterns, when it starts, it may or may not flow over a weekend or holiday to be completed. So, the 3/24 complete date makes sense.

The truck was built in Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, which is a railhead. The truck will be shipped via rail. Depending on order densities in your area (Kalifornia), the truck may or may not stop at the Kansas City rail head to be re-stacked into a different train for your specific area - which could take a few days. Once it reaches Kali, it will have to be put onto a "haulaway" (truck) in a railhead convoy lot. Typically that haulaway will be loaded to be dealer specific; so, it may have to wait for other vehicles to arrive to fill the haulaway - this may take a few more days. To make the trip from KTP to a dealer in S.F. will likely take 2-3 weeks, best case, assuming no rail car or haulaway shortages. If it takes longer than that it will because of transportation shortages.

Now they are just messing with us eh?
If this continues, our family might just go get the one from Redwood City. Before we ordered this, we considered that one back in December because it had everything except 3 seats in the 2nd row. Which is why we ordered. We actually don't have that many people in our household, but we were a bit concerned with cargo flying forward in an emergency stop because we will keep the 3rd row down... Apparently that vehicle is still on the market and the dealership marked it down from MSRP somewhat.

Our 2006 Honda Pilot is showing transmission problems (problems that can actually be felt now occasionally when accelerating, on top of the light that occasionally lights up, along with the P0172 code so it won't smog, or it might because it takes a few days for the code to register again when we clear it), and our 2005 Lexus LS430 recently had an alternator break. We're in desperate need of a new vehicle now.

I'd just hold on for the one you really want. The 2nd row bennch seat is clutch. If the status doesnt update again by wednesday are u able to call the ordering dealer for any inside status info?

We were hoping not to appear too eager to buy so we can potentially have more room to discuss discounts. :rotflmao: So they've just been the ones emailing us updates (and me looking on the website), but we never initiated any contact about the vehicle.

Interesting. Is the VIN the same? If it is not....something bad has happened (like damage or theft in transit). If it is the same VIN that you've been tracking, there is likely some glitch in the system and your truck is still on the way.
I'm still using the same VIN for the tracking system.
