Why? Auto companies spend billions to make cars safer for us and there will always be the occasional fault. We as humans cannot sue every company into extinction. History has shown us that. In the early 1980's Cessna was getting sued left and right for accidents caused by the pilot but blaming the company. The said Fck it and stopped selling GA aircraft for almost 30 years+.

My point is everyone is quick to blame, sue, cry, complain, expect this and that but have ZERO respect for the safety features these auto manufacturers supply us with. I am not saying there are not grounds in certain incidents for lawsuits, but in this case no one was harmed and as long as things are addressed, fixed and corrected to not happen again then we move on.
If a company knowingly sells a product with defects that can result in serious consequences, they should be held liable for the result. There are too many products out there that have the potential to cause harm because a company decided to cheap out on parts, look the other way on a faulty design, or take shortcuts in the manufacturing process or product testing in the pursuit of a little more profit. There is absolutely no reason to expect, nor should anybody have to deal with what happened to the OP. It easily could have had a devastating outcome. If it happened as a result of Ford's negligence or greed, then they need to be held to account.

If I were here, you would know it !
My chest is sore and the hearing in my left ear has 50% loss.
She's scared to ride in my X now because it was that traumatic

This, my friend, is called "pain & suffering" in legal terms, which you BOTH have definitely been subjected to. I would strongly suggest you BOTH have your ears examined by an ear doctor including an MRI like YESTERDAY, to be sure there is no permanent damage to your ear drums, and if your hearing does not return soon, I would definitely pursue a claim to cover your medical expenses for the appropriate surgical repair(s), as well as a lifetime prescription for top-quality hearing aids if needed....

And even if your hearing does return, get a repeat exam & test every 30-60-90 days for the next year or so. This is because hearing loss can seem to be so-so for a while, then go away, then get much worse all of a sudden and stay that way....

Trust me when I say I've "been there, done that", from way too many rock concerts in the 70's, 80's & 90's among other things, and I am paying the price for it now, having spent over $18K on hearing aides in the past 10 years and losing my balance & motion stability. Eventually I will lose my hearing altogether (a scary thought for sure), but hopefully I will be dead or almost dead by then and won't care (I have a lot of medical problems)

The new explosive recall is still active and waiting for the proper replacement parts. Both mine were replaced under the recall. The original ones can explode and have done so.
There is an addendum out, (safety recall Notice 25S31 / NHTSA Recall 25V197 that addresses the issue that the replacement seatbelt units may not be the proper date code range and anyone that had it done may need to have it done again. And the parts are not currently available.
