    Are we NO for ignition?

Update: Just tried to replicate the sound again in park. Started it cold, let it run for a minute, then gave it gas. Engine won’t rev past ~2750 rpm. Starts to oscillate the tach. Have not noticed this before, but I drive it pretty gently.

    Are we NO for ignition?

Thank you whtbronco, ManUpOrShutUp and SafariGoneWrong for your insight. Agree with your concerns about the mechanic. This shop had recently done some work replacing the yoke and rear differential seal for me, but it was the first time I had used them. I have always done my own tune-ups with...

    Are we NO for ignition?

Hello, I’ve been reading through some older threads, but wanted to make an inquiry. 06 expy, 180,000 miles. 2nd owner, always well maintained. Have put significant highway miles (~15k) towing ~5,000 lb trailer last few years. Recently, I noticed what I initially thought was a small exhaust...

    Air Ride vs Standard Suspension?

Thank you everyone. This helped me know which part I needed. If anyone has a picture of what an air ride suspension looks like, please post it to the thread. It could help a future forum browser looking for the same answer I was.

    Air Ride vs Standard Suspension?

Thank you Yupster Dog and dlcorbett. Appreciate the input. Here are some photos I took. Sounds like I have the standard suspension.

    Air Ride vs Standard Suspension?

No one has any thoughts on this or has dealt with it before? I searched the VIN but the only thing that came up for the suspension was that "motorcycle suspension type" was not applicable.

    Air Ride vs Standard Suspension?

I have a 2006 eddie bauer expy. Not the original owner. How do I determine whether or not I have the air ride vs standard suspension? Are there easily identifiable parts I can recognize to establish which one the vehicle has? I do not believe there are any dash switches to turn air ride on or...

Ball Joint Replacement - Steel vs Aluminum Knuckles?

I called the Moog technical support line. I was told that the specs for both ball joints is the same and that the "aluminum" knuckle joint k500060 is likely being phased out for k80149. The only difference seems to be the inclusion of a washer with k500060.

Ball Joint Replacement - Steel vs Aluminum Knuckles?

I am going to replace my lower front ball joints. Some of the ball joints for sale on Rock Auto specify steel vs aluminum steering knuckles. I ran a magnet on my 2006 eddie bauer expy and determined that my knuckles are aluminum. Is the difference between the ball joints sold for steel vs...

    Stuck in park

I had a similar issue and resolved it by adjusting the brake switch wire harness. https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/brake-light-switch-and-shifting-issues.51608/

Brake light switch and shifting issues

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I believe I solved the issue. Because this is a pressure switch, the position and angle if the switch relative to the plunger rod is paramount. You can notice that the wiring harness has a slight curve to it. If this is not looped around the black...

Brake light switch and shifting issues

I have a 2006 Expy with Eddie Bauer and tow package and am currently towing a travel trailer across the country. Yesterday, a helpful stranger alerted me that my running lights were working, but brake lights were not. I checked all fuses, which were ok. So, I turned on my hazards and drove to...

Installing DC to DC Charger for Trailer House Battery - Do I Need to upgrade Alternator?

Following up on this, I ultimately passed on installing a direct DC to DC connection. Because, I discovered that the previous owner had purchased, but not installed, the dealer trailer brake connectors. SK-4L1T-15A416-AA In the package was a 30 amp fuse and a relay - for charging the trailer...

Installing DC to DC Charger for Trailer House Battery - Do I Need to upgrade Alternator?

I was going to incorporate some kind of 200w suitcase solar system. That way, we can place it in the sunlight when parked in the shade, and/or adjust its position throughout the day. Do you have a good reference for the 10 amps? I could probably live with that. Was under the impression that the...

Installing DC to DC Charger for Trailer House Battery - Do I Need to upgrade Alternator?

We do occasionally, but prefer boondocking. The trailer is the same age as the expy, so even when plugged into AC on shore power, the charge converter will only get the lithium battery to about 80%. I can top it off using a portable solar array, but it takes time. I like the idea of the DC...

Installing DC to DC Charger for Trailer House Battery - Do I Need to upgrade Alternator?

I have a 2006 Eddie Bauer Expy with the tow package and a small travel trailer. I plan on installing a 20 amp DC to DC charger to recharge a 100 ah lithium battery in my travel trailer while driving between campsites. This charger connects directly between the car's battery and the house...

Trying to avoid the 2005-2007 spark plug issue

Thank you for the rapid reply. I will take a look at the boots too. I figured this one was made outside of the questionable time frame due to the 12/07 completed date. But, I was unsure how the manufacturing process went. Could an engine that was built in October or earlier been installed in a...

Trying to avoid the 2005-2007 spark plug issue

Hello, I am considering buying a 2008 expedition. I have been reading about the problems some people have with breaking spark plugs, and want to avoid that scenario. The expedition I am considering was a trade in with just over 100,000 miles. I don’t know if previous owner changed plugs...
