    Moog front hubs any good?

My understanding is that the bearing is sealed in the hub, so the whole hub is replaced.

    Moog front hubs any good?

I called a couple other dealers and they also confirmed the national backorder status on the front hub assemblies.

Cracked valve cover - common problem?

I had a burning oil smell after cam phaser repair, and it turned out to be an O-ring that seals a spark plug hole in the valve cover that got pinched during reassembly. Might just need a new perimeter gasket or O-rings for the spark plug holes.

    Moog front hubs any good?

2018 Expedition Limited 4x4 and front hubs/wheel bearings are getting noisy. Talked with the dealer since the repair should be covered under my Ford extended warranty, but they say the Motorcraft front wheel hubs for the Expedition are on indefinite national backorder. Tired of the growly...

laminated glass stopped a break in...

Sorry for your damage. Are the windows on the rear doors laminated as well? Thought I had read someplace that it's only the front door glass that's laminated.

2022 Check ELSD - Service Vehicle Soon?!

The thread below has some background that may be helpful. Maybe a bad wheel speed sensor, loose connector, etc... https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/limited-slip-differential-reduced-torque.42225/

    Engine temp spikes on highway

Mine has also never been over 220 F. I had wildly fluctuating temps displayed recently and had the thermostat replaced, and temp now consistently runs 185-190F in normal driving after engine is at operating temp.

    Engine temp spikes on highway

Not a dumb question. Forscan allows you to change settings to allow the instrument cluster to display the values for the engine temp, transmission temp, etc. Check out the Forscan section on this forum if you're interested in trying it out. It's a free license and there is a spreadsheet that...

22 inch tires for 2020 Expedition Platinum

Have you considered running a dedicated set of snow tires on smaller wheels? We've had good success with Nokian Hakkapelliitta R5 SUV tires on 20" wheels for the winter months. More sidewall helps with avoiding pothole damage to wheels as well.

Phone slipping off wireless charging pad

Every little road imperfection and my wireless charging disconnects and gives an error message on the nav screen. I just plug the phone in with a USB cable now to avoid the "benefits" of wireless charging provided by Ford.

    ‘22 Running Boards

Ford must have really changed the logic with the running board deployment. If I rinse my 2018 door handles while the fob is in my pocket, the doors lock/unlock, but the running boards don't deploy unless the door is actually opened. Also really weird that both running boards deploy at the same...

How to prove your fourth generation expedition tranny is slipping?

Best way is if you have specific situations where it's repeatable and you can ride along with a service tech to demonstrate. Any chance it would be more likely to slip when heavily loaded or with a trailer in tow?

Black lug nuts that don't suck

McGard also makes good lug nut options in both hex and spline drive. Believe their black nuts are PVD coated, which should be durable. https://mcgard.com/product-search/?vehicle_year=2020&vehicle_make=Ford&vehicle_model=Expedition&vehicle_category=24 They are also made in the USA.

Members with multi cam phaser replacement...

Had my cam phasers replaced at 30,000 miles. Seems fine now and I've been cranking for 3-5 seconds before I let the engine start to build oil pressure (I hold gas and brake down and let go of gas pedal) to hopefully reduce long term wear on the new set of phasers. Time will tell if it makes...

    Oil Leak…

That buildup of sludge means it's been leaking for quite some time. Perhaps the silicone applied during assembly on the plastic oil pan's mating flange is leaking.

Looking for recommendations for type of fire extinguisher and best locations to mount

I ended up getting a 2.5 lb halon fire extinguisher that is rated at 5BC. It was the smallest that I could find with a 5BC rating to meet DOT requirements for our F350 that wouldn't cause an issue with electronics. Mounts easily under the back seat in our F350. Major drawback is they are pricey.

I have an kinetic recovery rope (Bubba Rope) that works well for situations like this. The rebound of the rope does most of the work.

2021 lift gate puddle light will not illuminate unless ignition is on.

When you say "lift gate puddle lights" do you mean the license plate lights? My license plate lights illuminate when I open the doors along with the LED eyebrow strips on the headlights, the tail lights, and the mirror puddle lights. There is a time delay in the vehicle settings of the...

    2019 Exp Max vs Suburban

Agree that it's unlikely that the Sequoia will be offered in 2 separate wheel bases. However, the Tundra is offered this year in a crew cab with 6.5' box, which is a longer wheelbase than was offered on the prior generation. Maybe there's still a chance for a Sequoia Max.

    2019 Exp Max vs Suburban

I'm also hoping Toyota introduces a strong contender with the redesign of the Sequoia now that the new Tundra has been released. I would have strongly considered a Sequoia when we bought our Expedition, but I couldn't stomach the 10+ year old design at the time. LandCruiser was too small for...

2021 XLT FX4 with Co-Pilot360 Assist Front Parking Sensor locations?

Agree that my F350 has fewer issues with squeaks, rattles, etc than our Expedition. The production volume on the pickups is so much higher and they've had the same cab for several years now, so perhaps they have the bugs worked out better in the F series.
